Do speaker wires have to be the same length for each speaker?

Hi, Help, Do speaker wires have to be the same length for each speaker, R & L?

After the Big Bang Symmetry was broken, accounting for the present scarcity of antimatter in our present Universe. There you go!

No, but like most of us, if you had two different lengths, you’d always be wondering if it would sound better if they were. So mine are the same length even though I could have saved a few bucks if I hadn’t. But I like the reason above for keeping them the same length - resale value and ease to sell them.

They have to be within .00001 of an inch or it will just suck, it won't work. I'm pretty sure you'd go deaf in on ear.  My rabbit only one ear will come up. Dog hides under the bed.. Wife threatened to leave me.. :-)

The argument seems to be less about distance and time, but rather one of commonality of load per channel on the amplification.

Speed of electricity is 186,000 miles a second. A couple of feet doesn't mean much. But. I keep mine the same length because that is the way I am....

No they don't have to be. But I do used the same length cables to each stereo channel to keep the resistance/impedance the same.
