Denafrips/Vinshine not everything they were built up to be.

Just a FYI for the AG members, as that is how I (second handedly) got the info that there would be no worries.... Vinshine that as you know is the sole world wide distributor of Denafrips.
I placed an order with Vinshine on April 4th and sat back to see just how long this adventure would or could take. I never received any communication after the e-mail that stated my order was in. So this past Monday (approximately 5 weeks) I sent them an e-mail inquiring as to the status of my order. It took a couple days, due to time differences, but out of nowhere dated yesterday (5/13/21) is a shipping number and packing list. Nothing else... no sorry about the delay, I know this must look strange your shipment all of a sudden going?????
There were those of you that said, no way... I wouldn't do it. And, what about warranty.
I've been a member here 14 years and never posted anything. You guys need another unknown voice like a hole in the head. I just read my Friday Forum Highlights like my mom used to read her National Inquirer. But thought I would at least alert you to seemingly some strange goings on at Denafrips.

Vinshine is a company located in Asia. Telling its owner that you were raised by vets who fought in Asia (Vietnam, Korea) is not necessarily going to prove to them that you had a good upbringing. Their experience of the American military's role and mission there is, well, very different than what many Americans believe, especially those who were in the military. Not trying to litigate those wars -- excuse me, those "police actions" -- but to realize that they could see it differently might help you get the all caps button unstuck on your keyboard.

This is spot on. OP seems like one of those Americans who travels to another country and gets mad that people don’t speak English. And then speaks to them in English louder so they “understand” better.

i don’t know alvin, other than some email exchanges a while back about denafrips, and seeing him post here

but from his demeanor and yours, i know who i respect more
jjss49.... tell Alvin I am a retired American citizen and AG member for 14 years. Tell him I am the son of a 30 year career vet of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. Bronze Star, Purple Heart. That is who raised me. I don't even know what "click bait" is but the fact that some of you say and discuss things like THAT out to the public really PISSES ME OFF!
Tell Alvin that!
As I said, I have been reading all of you religiously for 14 years, As far as handling a little push back.... I have only read that type of "welcome" dozens of times, I mean a decade and a half? To the point that one of you says something to the "judge", as is how I felt by the first retort.
After what I considered what I read here regarding Vishine, I felt comfortable to proceed. Of course we made mistakes, BUT when we did I personally called our customer to apologize and make sure things were taken care of to his or her satisfaction.
Had a couple of errors with Morrow Audio.... Mike called me personally.
Fuzztone, I do not mean to cause Denafrips any sales, it is a a potentially shaky purchase, but I read and watch a lot of reviews and they always are at or near top dog. I even told whomever received my email that I want one of their DAC's but wanted to see how this goes first.
Now I get taken to the principles office???? Alvin.
This was intended to be an FYI for the group.... No More!

Apparently overreaction is your default mode.

I made the fact-based point that your complaint is anomalous, and agreed that the lack of communication is disappointing. Here is a 53 page (and counting) thread on Denafrips:

Are the contributions all glowingly positive? Of course not. But the responses from owners of the products are overwhelmingly positive, and so to extrapolate from your single experience that something is "wrong" with the company, and that it is "not everything they were built up to be", is ludicrous.

Presumably your business never made any mistakes over those 40 years.
To this day I still get emails from Vinshine Audio apprising the status of backorders, wait times for parts, order fulfillment and next time shipping dates, and I bought my EX-M1 a couple of years ago. I even get the newest reviews in my inbox.

A quick trip to their site will keep you updated on the very same matters. As for not getting back to you, all I can say is they do their best to stay on top of things but sometimes, stuff happens.

All the best,
Nonoise
alvin should probably chime in here - he probably will in short order

i see it as whipsaw does - headline smacks of click bait
I thank you for the FYI. Please let any unwarranted criticism roll off. It sure looks like "stay away" stuff to me.
All good my friend.
You’ve only gotten one reply to this post and you’re *already* swearing off posting to this group? For someone in business for 40 years, I’d suspect you’re capable of more resilience to pushback than just one reply to your post. Give us a chance.
Chip shortage is primarily due to the AKM fire, but I should have know better than posting to this group. I owned my own business for 40 years that involved taking orders, creating either shippers or packing list OR create a back order. If someone contacted me after five weeks and all of a sudden the product is available for immediate shipping.... "something strange is going on."
I have been and continue to be in "rolling back order" situations. In all cases there have been communications.... The thing that keeps countries out of war. This was intended to be an FYI for the group.... No More!
"strange goings on"

I believe your anecdote, but your hyperbolic headline and conclusion seem oddly out of proportion.

If there are others who have had similar experiences, I haven't seen them reported on this, or other forums. In fact, Alvin Chee of Vinshine has a well documented history of being very responsive to any issues, including answering questions directly on forums. So your experience is undoubtedly anomalous.

Perhaps Denafrips has been adversely impacted by the well-reported chip shortage, which would explain uncommon shipping delays. The lack of communication that you report is disappointing, but again, I see no evidence that it is remotely typical.
