Decware and “The List”

So….this

128x128eag618

Jeff i wasn't really low balling....  second hand gear is second hand gear.   Would you trust a guy like RAII guy anyway ?   I wouldn't.   Guy is poison to this site.

I buy used all the time, rarely do I care about the warranty.   But where is the value proposition buying a used Decware and then having to send it in for what is no doubt a great warranty ?    Would you pay a premium on the amp only to send it in and spend over $1000 on shipping , tubes , and testing / certification?    I wouldn't no matter what the brand.

@oddiofyl Man so sorry you were subjected to that. You we’re perfectly fine in your $3500 dollar assessment, about what I would have said. What an awful human. Dig your system btw, keep listening!

@oddiofyl WOW… on your side he is just looking to spew hate.  This site needs to support us hobbyists in all our different journey’s.   Not tear down.  If you are in the kiddie pool then I am in a mud puddle.  We are all at different levels in this hobby and can learn from each other regardless. No need to engage with this self centered negativity.

Thanks all....  he is a low life for sure.   No dig against Decware , but I wouldn't pay a premium just  because they are backordered.   Not for any amp.   I waited 11 months for my  amp and I'd do it again.

Funny thing about  Gold Record Guy is he  has a few high end pieces , but most is good ole' Mid Fi gear that for whatever reason he is "collecting".   Saving, thinking he can gouge someone in the future because it's "new" .   This hobby is completely lost on a guy like that.    What a loser.

One thing  this hobby has taught me is my system is quite modest compared to many here.  But call my baby ugly and I'll come out swinging !  That's almost like saying my kids are funny looking.     Happy listening!

Sooo...I’m the Op in this discussion and just thought I’d drop in and say hello!

Yes I am looking for a fabulous Decware Amp and sadly I do not have sufficient time to order and build one, I’m mid 60’s and dying. And truthfully it’s no big deal, great life, great kids, great Bride, great place to be physically, great physicians and other than CHF no worries!

I’m going out with dignity.

So I read all the posts, and I see it’s digressed, sadly. You guys Oddiofyl and RIAA..VALUE is in the eye of the BUYER, FREE ENTERPRISE is one of the primary foundations for the American system. I for one would gladly pay full price for an AMP (25th Anniversary) and GLADLY pay the Warranty Transfer costs including all new tubes...(Have you guys tried buying KT120's lately....Holy Sh-t....)

Let me get back to my original point, ......

HOW can I buy a 25th Anniversary Amp in the next 10-15 months....Steve are ya reading, can I cut line....PLEASE!!!! (Insert Smiley Face)....Seriously folks life is way too short.

Best,

Chip

Hey sorry your thread went off the rails.... I would put a WTB ad for whatever amp you want on USAM and on Decwares site. Also check HiFi Shark . It is an aggregate of most audio sales across the globe. Good luck.

RIAA GUY.  , here is your chance to be a decent human being.   If I were rich and successful like you I would reach out to Chip after reading this post.... maybe sell him that amp for what you have into it????

Post removed

Again , no one cares.....  show the world you have a shread of decency and offer Chip your Decware at a decent price...

I can remember when I ordered a couple Randall knives and had to wait 2 years for them.  Of course they were worth the wait.  I am currently #1496 and happy to have the opportunity to "eventually" receive a 300B. This is a quality product that is in high demand.  I think my wait is probably 2 more years added to the 6 months I've currently waited and I'm okay with that.

I would love to check out some Decware gear.  Missed a local used phono stage not long ago.  The seller said if I had reached out a half hour earlier it would have been mine!  Kicking myself, but not too hard.  🤔

It sounds like they have a great product and company.  But.... I've sent 3 emails now through their site and haven't heard back yet.  I get it, they are very busy.  I may just take the plunge and purchase and get on the wait list.  3.5 yrs? lol

I'm not too far from them.  Maybe they would let me come and help out building my phono stage to speed things up a bit?  😁

My issue with Decware is this … don’t tell me it’s 18 months with 2100 people on the List when your monthly production is less than 60 units.  Math doesn’t lie, that’s over a three year wait.  The list is growing faster than they can build and that’s a bad thing.   The Steve G review will only put them further behind. Didn’t they learn anything from the last two reviews of the UFO84?

They should just say look, we don’t want to sacrifice quality it will be 2 1/2 to 3 years .. are you still in ?

@eag618

when my time comes I hope to be able to face it as you are: with dignity and gratitude. Thank you for sharing and putting things in perspective.

+1 voodoo.    Very brave to face that diagnosis head on with such dignity.   I wish you well Chip.  Hopefully you find the exact amp you are looking for .

Voodoochillin and Oddiofyl....Thank you Gentlemen (or Ladies) for the kind words, much appreciated!

Perhaps some of you might be interested that you can buy the printed circuit board for the original Zen triode and build it yourself. I just did that and it arrived in about a week.

Se84c

there is a very nice set of instructions and a complete parts list and for me it’s priced out to about $500 including the tubes.

I have a good deal of sympathy with Chip. I have leukemia and I'm hoping I will be one of the lucky 33% cured by a bone marrow transplant.* I would have bought a pair of Decware SE84UFO monoblocks recently (to bridge into mono) if it were not for the waiting list. I don't know if I'll be here in a couple of years! So I decided to stick with my Quad II/forty amps and spend the money on repairing my Quad 2905 speakers (the panels are all failing at 12 years old).

I assume Mr Deckert is happy with the income his business makes from his current production capacity, and that there is a risk associated with expansion, especially if demand falls off in the future. That's entirely his business. A year ago I did something unforgivable when it looked like I needed to clear the decks: I sent several tube phono stages, pre-amps and SET monoblocks to the electronics recycling centre. I regret the SET amps more than anything. But now I must learn to endure my punishment for that rash decision!

*Funny thought. 1/3 die from the transplant and complications, 1/3 suffer recurrence and die. The remaining 1/3, the 'winners' - get to die of something else! I used to say to my patients who were smart enough to enjoy the humour, 'beating cancer just means dying of something else!"

@dogberry I wish you well and your post gives a bit more perspective, as we have no idea what is going on in people’s lives beyond this forum.

All the best and may your god be with you.

Jeff.

I see the mean old @riaa_award_collectors_on_facebook deleted his nasty narcissistic posts. Hope one of the dogs he was feeding peed on his leg.

For those with issue with the wait time, one way Steve can solve that is by drastically increasing the price of all of his products.

I commend this man for building quality products for a reasonable price.  My Torri MKV is in QC as we speak and its just under 2 year wait on the item ordered on 9/21.  Just place the order and forget about it....and when it comes.....it comes.
