@est812 I have done alot of work with Piezo’s. It sounds like you are using a crossover with these. Is that correct? Piezo’s have their own inherent rolloff without a crossover. 2x6 and the round expedential horns are the best. 2x6 without a crossover will rolloff around 1800hz, the round expendential horns roll a bit over 3000. If you have a crossover, then you’ll need to add a resistor to the them. If your crossover is spec’d to use 4 ohm tweeters, parallel all tweeters and add a 4 ohm resistor in front of the string, or if the crossover is configured for an 8 ohm tweeter, parallel all tweeters and put an 8 ohm resistor in front of them..... 1 resistor for all, Do not use a resistor on each. By the way, they can be used without a crossover or resistor, but always sound better with a resistor, crossover or not. If you use a resistor on each piezo, you will need to treat them as seperate impedance pieces....
Connecting Piezo-electric Tweeters
Hello,
I am building a full range speaker cabinet with a Pyle 10" speaker, a mid range horn and four Piezo-electric tweeters. I have a 3-way crossover (with no documentation but clearly labeled connections for Woofer, Midrange and Tweeter outputs.
Should I connect all the tweeters directly to the Tweeter connection individually or should I make the wiring of the four Tweeters in a series/parallel wiring configuration?
Many thanks for your response, Eric.
