Come on up to the House - Women Sing Tom Waits

Anyone else love this album? Great interpretations. Quality of the Recording is really nice. I currently play it twice in one sitting. It just keeps getting better the more I listen. Or are various legal substances going to my head?

Love this album!!

Tom Waits is an underrated, under appreciated genius.

I'd write more but I have to drive my piano home. It's been drinking.

Great album there, Come On Up To The House: Women Sing Waits

Favorite is Ol' 55 by Shelby Lynne and her sister Allison Moorer
I love Tom Waits! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely check this out.
Big Tom Waits fan here but that voice is tough to duplicate. Do the women drink a quart of whiskey and smoke a pack of cigarettes before recording the covers?
@middlemass.  Ha! And they also chew gravel while they sing. Waits is the musical version of Bukowski. So Check it out and tell us what you think of their interpretations.
Thanks for that clip @dweller and thanks @deadhead1000 for this tread. Big Tom Waits fan after wearing out more than one copy of The Heart Of Saturday Night after it first came out and have followed him every since, but had no idea about this album. Enjoy the music
Tom Waits fan here.  I just discovered the "One From the Heart" Soundtrack  by Tom Waits and Crystal Gayle from the movie with the same name.  It seems a lot of female singers include some of those songs into the sets.

Holly Cole Temptation is based on Tom Waits songs that is a very enjoyable album to me.

3 points illuminated.

1 Shelby played the last Axpona.

2 Tom is featured in Rikki Lee’s book. She was supposed to play the ’20 Axpona.

3 Besides Tom, who else has played God AND Satan in films?
If you like this, also check out "Temptation" by Holly Cole (1995). I have it on vinyl and it's an excellent interpretation of Tom Waits tunes.
