My thoughts are that you are not describing the problem nearly well enough.

Rotel receiver may be too weak and B’s are definitely too heavy.

Remember amp must be heavier than speakers -- use scales to measure 😁

yes, just thought  a preliminary would start.  my new equipment is parasound a21 and adcom 915 preamp, what a difference but still clipping at 80 decibels

The A21 should handle 80db easily with those speakers. Can you describe what you mean by clipping? It might also be helpful to know something about your source components. 

over 80 it cuts out for a second, component is rotel 1072 cd player  i have 16 ga. wire with banana clips and other wire is capable monster cable supplied when i bought the system

How are you measuring 80 ?? Is that the setting on the amp or a measurement of the audio level at yoru seat?

This is what I mean by not sure you are describing the issue.  Does the sound cut out... or do you hear the sound get really nasty?

That’s not clipping!

Clipping is a type of distortion heard when an amplifier reaches the maximum voltage swing it is capable of. It’s called clipping because the normally sinusoidal like signals do a hard stop at the maximum voltage, looking as if scissors had clipped them.  It sounds quite harsh.  It does not sound like silence.

The audio cutting out is not clipping. It’s more likely a sign of a thermal or current overload.  It may happen if your speakers have too low of an impedance for your amp, whether by design or fault.

Clipping comes from over driving an amplifier.  What you’re describing sounds more like something is skipping. You mentioned a CD player,  do you have any other sources that you can try?
