Building a music room

No such thing as High quality wireless sound?? I would buy a pair of KEF LS50 Wireless and go direct to them using a CAT 6 cable from the router using Tidal or Quboz thats all youll need for awesome sound!!

Also to connect your P3 to the KEF’s youll need to have a Phono pre amp between the TT and the KEF’s :-) happy listening !!

Thanks! I’d like to keep a wired setup in the main room - I’m going to close it off and try to make it feel a little cocktail/library vibe. Want to indulge in a high end offering there, but would also like to be able to set up so the same thing can play in the whole house while entertaining 

I would concentrate on getting appropriate equipment before room treatments. Depending on your choice of speakers and positioning, that will determine your allocation to tube traps, and other acoustical treatments and where they are needed. 

That was certainly my plan - I’m trying to figure out components to make the room play beautiful music and also let me potentially play that music into other parts of the house.

To be clear here, you are at a budget of $2-$3K all in for speakers, amp, digital front end and need a phono preamp included. It needs to stream music and have a dac? 

That’s the ideal budget (mostly buying used) - but I could stretch as necessary

look at room acoustics first get that right then any audio system you put into it will sound better then if you don't treat the room. 

personally, at your budget i'd cut out all the big boxes and go with wireless speakers like the ls50 wireless II (you can find for $1500 or so used)--they have a built in dac and streamer and you can add a sub and/or phono preamp + you can add additional kef speakers in different rooms and use the same app.
