budget AES/EBU?

I'm considering either an Audioquest Carbon or a DH Labs D110 AES/EBU digital cable for cd transport to DAC connection. Budget $300. Used is fine. Any opinions, suggestions?

Mogami sell an AES3 cable in their "Gold" line for about $60. It may have gone up. I think it’s probably as good as any. I used it for years in my system, until I switched to USB. My total system cost was near six figures US, yet I found the Mogami cables more than satisfactory.

In my experience, audible differences among properly constructed digital cables are slim to none. If that comment is anathema to you, I’m sure other denizens of Audiogon have numerous suggestions for you to spend more money.

Maybe you can find one of these cables on the used market close to your price range. Mostly likely, the AES/EBU versions have a similar SQ as the S/PDIF.

I upgraded from a good budget cable to the Acoustic Zen MC2 and it blew me away with the improvement it provided.  Read the universally glowing reviews.  Worth paying up a little for if you have to IMHO.  This seller apparently has an AES/EBU cable for sale in addition to the SPDIF he’s listed here.  Best of luck.

the Carbon is a fairly good cable and is silver plated which is a non-negotioable with me for digital.

But I can highly recommend the Audio Sensibility Signature SE silver cable.  I use that between my Grimm Streamer and my Lampizator DAC.  with the strong dollar the Canadian dollar price is now less.

Acoustic Zen Mc2 @soix recommended is great. Had it a while ago.
Another option is DH Labs. Slightly faster and a tad leaner sounding than the Zen but also cheaper.
