Bryston Service A-1

Had an issue with my BDP-3 Musc player.

Was ready to send it in to bryston for check out.

Got a call back from someone familiar  with the unit

Took over my keyboard by remote fixed the problem.

Great customer service

the Aurender must have been really bad…

I know many praise Aurender, but my experience was not good. They had one support guy ("Ari") whose "solutions" to problems showed he hadn't bothered to read the remedies I'd already tried. Audio should be fun so I moved on. I think the Bryston is terrific.

I dumped my Aurender in favor of the BDP3, which has been much more stable and reliable.

@mahler123

You just set Manic Moose to Roon compatible mode, then MM its just an endpoint.   You don't really ever have to touch it. Been using my little BDP Pi like that for several years now.  Reliable.

Hopefully Bryston has upgraded their streaming support since those unhappy days. The best support is the one that you never need to call

The BDP-3 has beeen EOL. They merged the Technology with their DAC for an integrated streamer/DAC (BDA 3.14). You can still buy the standalone DAC.

I have been toying withe the idea of getting rid of my current standalone DAC and BDP pi for the 3.14.  Allowing me to stream directly to the DAC from The ROONS server.

Well thankfully  its only problem I had with the unit and the source was on The music service Tidal's end

Glad he corrected it.

I wouldn't buy another one that's for sure Many other options out there.

At least bryston helped in the days of Numerous horror stories of support.

I had the BDP-3.  It needed so much support that I added Chris Rice, who apparently was the only Bryston employee who knew anything about streaming, to my Christmas card list.  He was responsive to the numerous requests to fix the snafus but occasionally he would take a vacation, etc.  I told him we had to sto meeting like this.  I finally dumped the BDP-3.

  Hopefully Bryston has upgraded their streaming support since those unhappy days.  The best support is the one that you never need to call
