"B&W" ?

I've seen several threads titled something related to "B&W".   I am slow on the draw, but is this how B&W speakers are now referred to as?

Oh, I didn't think it was sinister or anything like that, I was just wondering why I was seeing so many posts with titles that referred to "B&amp, W" and I just wondered if it was something new going on that I missed out on.  That's all.  Thanks.

The & translates to & as an HTML encoded safe character.   The encoding prevents malicious things from happening on a server.  When it’s retrieved from a database and displayed in a browser sometimes it’s not decoded to the & character and you get the encoded version.  Probably more info than you cared to know.

Thanks, @jastralfu  , it's not more than I wanted to know, but kind of more than I can understand.  But thanks for the explanation--I shall wonder no more!
