"B&W" ?

I've seen several threads titled something related to "B&W".   I am slow on the draw, but is this how B&W speakers are now referred to as?

The & translates to & as an HTML encoded safe character.   The encoding prevents malicious things from happening on a server.  When it’s retrieved from a database and displayed in a browser sometimes it’s not decoded to the & character and you get the encoded version.  Probably more info than you cared to know.
