Any modern rock recommendations?

Can anyone recommend any recent rock music?  Been dragging out my classic rock albums from 60's, 70's and 80's.  Surely there must be some decent rock bands in the classic style from this century...

Band Maid is to my mind the best rock band to come along since the Stones. Easily among the ten greatest rock bands of all time. They are an especially great live, Check out their official live Youtube videos.  I would suggest listening to "Hate", "Play", the new "Shambles": live version, "Domination", "Freedom" and many more on Youtube.. They have an extensive repertoire of terrific songs. There are numerous fan made live videos out there. Stick to their "official" ones when starting out. Their first hit "Thrill" from ten or so years ago is a good studio.cut.

I grew up on rock and roll . Little Richard, and Bill Haley and the Comets records were the first singles ever listened to at home as a child. I loved the sixties as many of you do. Band Maid is every bit as good and original as the greatest groups of these eras, or later the best punk groups, even the best metal groups (although not my favorite genre) and any other rock genre you might favor.

Don’t miss out. You won’t regret it. They are incredible, virtuoso musicians  and happily brought me back home to rock after listening to a steady diet of jazz for may years.

Here are some off-the-beaten track favorites of mine:

Dada: Puzzle

Toy Matinee: Toy Matinee

Morphine: Cure For Pain

The Golden Palominos:  Pure

Box Scaggs: Dig (bought it for one song... Thought other's were odd. A year later I really like all the tracks except for the one that I bought the album for which I find kind of boring now)

Alt J: An Awesome Wave.

Of course Metallica, Tool, STP, System of a Down, all have great albums out there as well

Some great suggestions here, I concur on Tool, Porcupine Tree, Nothing but Thieves and band maid.

since you like Steely Dan, my favorite artist honestly try Monkey House.
also Garbage just released a new album, it’s awesome.

don’t forget linkin park and Evanescence.

the track Lonely is the Muse by Halsey really rocks

Queensryche - Della Brown       (a very underrated rock/metal vocalist)

Pearljam - Indifference

Generally, any band Steven Wilson is involved in....solo albums, porcupine tree, blackfield, no-man, etc will have high quality recordings, the likes of which didn't quite work out in the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Red hot chilli peppers - Give it away   (this was a funky piece when it first came out, won a grammy, i suppose)
