Bought some 14/2 “speaker wire” from Home Depot Rx8manyou do realize that the most important part of every post I’ve ever made is the photo of Ms. Boyd. I once changed the photo to something else and responses to my posts after that essentially ignored my posts and wondered why I switched pictu...
Bought some 14/2 “speaker wire” from Home Depot Re dedicated line- i did that in my prior home and it was without a doubt the single biggest improvement, dollar for dollar, that I ever made. Did a home run to the panel with 10 gauge. Electrician thought I was nuts when I asked for 10 gauge.
Bought some 14/2 “speaker wire” from Home Depot I tinned the ends to prevent any stray strands. The wire I bought is all copper- not copper clad aluminum. And Ms. Boyd is always happy - which is the most important thing
Speaker cables for Revel Studio 2 Budget? Good question- not sure
What's the best and/or favorite piece of equipment you've owned? And do you still own it? I love every piece of equipment I own
High end stereo preamps? Worth it? First- one premise made by the OP is incorrect- phono stages are not noise free. Some are very quiet but none are dead silent. Next, I’ve been messing around in this audio world since the 1970’s. Everything makes a difference and a great preamp ca...
Can anyone recommend an FM Receiver that would play into a relatively high end system? Given a good signal, a good vintage tuner is a thing of beauty. The Holy Trinity of vintage tuner is Day Sequerra, Marantz 10B and McIntosh MR78. There are other damned good vintage tuners. If you need xlr output, Magnum Dynalab offers that
Pondering a change after 30 odd years... For a very long time I was a confirmed Magnepan owner. The ribbon tweeter an a full sized Maggie coupled with a great sub was very enjoyable. I was not swayed away from panels until I listened to Revel speakers. I am quite content with my Revel st...
Audiophiles must be careful with their remotes, vs. items on ebay. When my kids were little remotes used to disappear frequently. They were eventually found and sometimes in most unlikely places. Other things disappeared permanently -
Your most indispensable "tweak"? Dedicated power line
VPI new turntable- Prime 21 October and November releases? In the Auto works that makes them 21’s
The most criminal practice in the speaker industry revealed!! Keep reading "Real audiophiles devote their lives to the pursuit of PERFECT sound quality"There is so much wrong with this statement. First, pursuing perfection is a fool's errand. Next, devote their lives? Damn- there's got to be some meds for that-
I’m looking to upgrade my Magnum Dynalab MD106T??? I used to have a MD105. Sold it- I now have a Modaferri modded MR78. The ‘78 is far more enjoyable. And I did go from balanced to single ended outputs. Other vintage top choices are Marantz 10b, 20 or 20b these old tuners have an organic breathing...
Rega Planar 3 hum resolve. What cartridge is the OP using? If it's a Grado- well, that's a problem with Rega tables
Does the 33 hertz frequency turn vinyl into super vinyl "YES" huh? |
