What interconnects work best with Audio Research? Over the years, I have seen ARC products using AudioQuest wire frequently in shows and demonstrations, especially with Vandersteen speakers. The largest ARC dealer in the world for several years carried AQ almost exclusively and sold me on them. T...
Frequency Response Measurement Question Drewh1,As Shadorne says, moving the meter even a fraction of an inch can cause large changes in higher frequencies especially when comb filtering is present. Just move you head side to side over the meter at 2000 hz and if it is present, you will ...
Turntable - On the Wall or to the Floor? Another approach which may work for you is to strengthen the floor from beneath. If there is a basement or crawl space, it is not difficult to place a beam across the middle of the floor, one under the speakers, and one under the TT. The beams sho...
Tweaks when building a listening room? My experience with building to Fibonacci (Golden Mean)ratios is very similar to Sarcher above. I ended up at 8ft H x 13ft W x 21ft L. The room response is remarkable. Now is the time to consider the AC dedicated circuits and conditioning as well. ...
Vandersteen 7 Flagship at CES David,The 5A drivers and crossover can be upgraded to the new 7 drivers and new crossover. However, it must be done at the factory since the crossovers are individually tailored to the drivers via testing in an anachoic chamber. I have yet to hear...
