Audioquest Battery Pack comparation The battery on the AQ cable is connected to an inner anode wire and a drain wire. These two wires are not connected together or to any other wire. So no current flows from the battery. This serves to establish an electric field which keeps the dia...
Audioquest Cheetah vs Audioquest Anaconda It just turns out that I have been comparing these two cables over the last couple of weeks. I am planning to write a review, but will give you a summary here since you asked. My current system is fully balanced and has the Anacondas between the C...
Musical Fidelity Tri-Vista vs. ARC CD 3 The ARC CD3 is redbook only. You can run it SE into the preamp and still have fully balanced preamp outputs. This CD is of excellent build quality and can be upgraded to the CD3 MKII. It is extremely accurate, detailed and exhibits almost little o...
Redbook for the long haul ARC CD3 MKII. Always supported and upgradeable.
Please help, obsessive audiophile question It is not uncommon for rooms to have an asymetrical response. This is especially evident in rooms with a door way or hall off one side, or in L shaped rooms, or rooms with a fireplace on one side and not the other. If you test your room response i...
What is everyone using for dedicated AC lines??? I notice that some of you have used #12 THHN stranded, and others #12 gauge solid core twisted. Can someone explain the rationale for choosing either?
Room Lens at CES? Look through Albert Porter's pictures on the AGON home page at the bottom. I'm sure some show these in use.
Audioquest Dialectric-Bias System I believe that AQ is now going to higher battery voltages in the bias system. The are putting 2 - 24v batteries on each cable instead of one. If you bought the earlier version, you can get an upgrade to add another battery.
Headphone tube amplifiers and OTL Granite Audio had a tube headphone amp on display at CES this year, however, I don't see it on their website. It had a wonderfully sweet sound. You can see it on the left end of the table in this picture. http://forum.audiogon.com/i/ces04/f/107361...

Vandersteen-like "In-between" speakers Bigtee,There are 2 - 8" carbon loaded cellulose cone subwoofers with a long throw motor assembly, powered by a built-in 300 watt amplifier, with multi-band room response compensation. (20Hz - 100Hz) The subs both fire downwards. The speaker is 43"...
Vandersteen-like "In-between" speakers Bigtee,The Vandersteen information sheet from CES says 6 1/2" woofer. 100Hz-900Hz
Best Isolation Device for Speakers? My listening room is in a formal living room with cathedral ceilings and a very strong WAF. I am just lucky to have it there at all! The decorator once came in and asked if I could push the speakers back into the corners. That got a lot of support...
Best Isolation Device for Speakers? I am most interested in what is going on here. When the speakers are spiked onto the floor, this should create the best path for resonant energy to depart (good), and this should increase the energy input into the floor which drives the natural fl...
Best Isolation Device for Speakers? This thread is of great interest to me currently. I have recently placed my 5As on a piece of MDF over the carpet on a large second floor listening room over the garage. I did this to help me move them around for purposes of testing. What I discov... |
