Vandersteen-like "In-between" speakers The Vandersteen Quatro was an idea that came to Richard just 3 weeks before the show, and the one at the show is the only prototype. He is using all existing components from his other speakers, but has combined them differently and packaged them a...
Vandersteen 5A or WATT?Puppy 7 PS, NmurroThe crossovers are in the speakers. The box outside the speaker is a high pass filter between the pre and amp that filters the bass at 6 db per octave below 100 hz. The subs then add it back. This unloads the amp of the high power needed...
Best monoblock tube amp with Vandersteen 5A Richard also does seminars across the country every year, and will hang around afterwards and talk for hours about what ever you want. He is trying to teach how to evaluate speakers from technical measurement data so us buyers can make better deci...
Vandersteen 5A or WATT?Puppy 7 The 5As are the most musical speakers I have heard (I do own them now). There are many advantages to the 5As not to be overlooked. The ease of driving them with a variety of amps. The fully integrated separately powered subs, that make sub/woofer ...
Best monoblock tubes amp with Vandersteen 5As I don't know about "best", but I have heard them with the ARC Ref 2, and VTM200s and they sound incredible. As stated above, these speakers are relatively easy to drive. I am using a VT 100 MKIII, and it does an excellent job. However, if you list...
Best monoblock tube amp with Vandersteen 5A I don't know about "best", but I have heard them with the ARC Ref 2, and VTM200s and they sound incredible. As I'm sure you know, these speakers are relatively easy to drive. I am using a VT 100 MKIII, and it does an admirable job. However, if you...
owners of vandy 5a Al,I have an 18'x30' room with 13.5' high cathedral ceilings. The speakers are on the 18' wall. Currently they are 5' from the side walls and 4.5' from the back wall and have essentially no toe-in. I sit 8' from each speaker, which are 8' apart. T...
Am I living in a vacuum? Or has anyone noticed I did have some problems with 6550Cs this year and described the situation in some detail in a thread that seems to have been deleted. Basically, I bought a new amp and had a tube go out in 9 minutes, got another new amp from the manufacturer and ...
Amps for Vandersteen 5A I agree the 5As are relatively insensitive to the amp and fairly easy to drive. I am currently using an ARC VT100 MKIII and the high definition is really impressive.
Audio Research 150.2 Class T Digital Amp I borrowed one for two weeks from my dealer while my VT100 MKIII was in service. It indeed was impressive and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. However, ultimately I found it less musically involving and became very anxious to get back to the t...
Anybody Heard the Vandersteen 5A'S Pmotz,If you like the Vandy sound, you will be astonished to hear the improvement in the 5A. It is simply better than the 3Asig + 2wqs in every way. IMO
Are vandersteen 5 desmond1, What size was your room? Smaller than the 12x16 above? Very small rooms can have some acoustic issues, however, the 5A provides a great deal of control and adjustment to handle them. Did you ever get another sub and were you able to get ...
Are vandersteen 5 The 5A is 14"W x 20"D at the base and 10"W x 16"D at the top. Height is 45". Quite reasonable considering it includes the sub and amp, a woofer, midrange and tweeter. It is actually narrower and shorter than the 3A, although deeper.
Anybody Heard the Vandersteen 5A'S I have owned the 5As for 8 months and can not wait to listen to my system every night. These speakers have incredible bass that is so well integrated with the woofer you can not hear the crossover or transition between the drivers. The base is ver...
Are vandersteen 5 Assuming you can put them on the long wall and get them at least 3 ft. from the back wall and 4 ft. from the side walls, and assuming you can sit against the front wall, I think the Vandy 5s would work fine. You would be in an approximately 8 ft. ... |
