Best Option In A CD/SACD Player Under $1,500.00 Correction to my other post ... Marantz increased the price for the SA8005 to $1199 but it's still in your range.
Best Option In A CD/SACD Player Under $1,500.00 I've read good things about the Marantz SA8005 and the predecessor 8004. Retails for $999 and of course less for used or reconditioned. May want to read up on it.
Restoration / upgrading a Thorens TD165 Check out the guy under the turntables listings who is selling a TD-160. He always advertises "Bold Restorations" and is located somewhere in PA. Can't personally vouch for him, but he's been advertising on AG for quite a while. Good luck.
Best Cd Player under $500.00 Used OR New Check out the Marantz CD5005 and CD6005.
Well Recorded Best of Opera Hits There are a number of Pavarotti "greatest hits" opera records in vinyl, mostly on the London label. Try "Primo Tenore" from 1971 or "The World's Favorite Tenor Arias" from 1973, for example. You can also find 'best of' duets, etc. If not on AG, tr...
Used VPI Traveler v1 vs. New Rega RP3 Does the VPI need to be shipped? Is the seller an experienced TT shipper/packer? What is his track record? Just some things I would want to know. Good luck and cheers.
Ever downgrade and have better sound? If it sounds better, it ain't a downgrade. We get way too stuck on "official" audiophile brands, price and bragging rights.
What is a good power amplifier? I've had great luck with the Marantz MM7055 for HT, but that's all I use it for. No ear bleeds either. Marantz house sound is relatively "warm" for SS. For 2 channel, I run a separate system with a Parasound power amp. Neither should break the ban...
Shopping for an integrated amp I agree with the comments on Vincent. Might also consider the various Marantz integrateds. Not "official" audiophile stuff, but Marantz makes some awfully good amps at various price points. Cheers
Best sounding integrated between $1500-$3000 Might consider Marantz integrateds in that range, new or used. Not currently using one of them, but I have in the past and liked them.
which one of these amp to buy? Another vote for Parasound. Have no experience with Emotiva, but I doubt it's up to the sound quality and reliability I've experienced with Parasound. Cheers.
$1500 for a whole system, budding audiophile I'd go for a mix. You might consider a) Klipsch Heresy speakers ($300-$500 used); b) Marantz PM5004 (integrated amp, about $450 new); c) Marantz CD5004 (about $350 new) and, d) Project Debut Carbon (about $400 new). You do NOT need to spend big bu...
Integrated with good preamp & pre out This stuff is SO subjective, I hesitate to respond. Since I did, here's my 2 cents ... check out the Marantz PM8004 ... it's about a grand, sometimes less if go used or reconditioned. Not running one presently, but I've had Marantz integrateds and...
mid-rang pre amp Marantz separates are the way to go IMO. I've had an excellent experience with them. Good luck and cheers!!
Survey:What Speakers Do You Want To Demo in Store? Pushing the envelope on price, I'd say Tannoy and klipsch Palladium. |
