Advice for a two channel amp Would help to know your price range, but assuming it's somewhere in the middle, I'd look at Marantz offerings for an integrated and Parasound for separates. I've had good luck and good sound with both.
Power conditioning / surge protection I run separate 2 ch and HT systems and both are connected to PC's. Haven't had any adverse results from surges and out west in Colorado, we get plenty of them. For Drr and Tbromgard - what are the benefits of plugging your power amps directly into...
Audio Kharma website Critical listening on a good system and frying bacon are not mutually exclusive. Just the other day I prepared a super BLT while enjoying an opera on vinyl. Both had "sizzle."
Power Cord up to $100? For my money, this is the last area in which I would consider an upgrade. I've done it with little impact. I've got a nice system and great sound. Don't need the braggin' rights (if there are any) of overpriced cords. I'd keep the cost well under ...
Floor standing speakers under $1500.00 Klipsch Heresys are in the ballpark price-wise. Very clean and dynamic sound and extremely efficient. Bass is good but not real deep. (About 50 hz or so).
The Weavers I'm glad I wasn't born too late for the folk music of the '50s and 60's. It's genuine Americana. Bob Dylan started out as a "purist" folk guy and went on to influence so many others in pop, rock, country, etc., as did Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie...
Best High Efficiency Speakers for full bass tone K-Horns if you have the corners. If not, KLF-30's (if you can find them) are great. I use them as fronts in my HT in a very large room but they do a fine job for 2 channel with an upscale amp.
Tannoy Westminister VS dc10 Instrument Grande V I'd take a close look at the Klipsch Palladiums. High efficiency, great looks, well reviewed. I think there's a special section for them on both the Klipsch forums and website. Good luck.
Best "Giant Killer" Value Cables For... I have had great luck with Blue Jeans IC's in my HT system and with My Audio Cables (MAC)silver IC's in my 2 channel system. The latter was obtained through Audiogon's auction for a good price. Check it out. Cheers.
Best AV receiver to use as an AV pre amp Frankly, I don't understand the personal, ego driven attacks which too often surface on this forum. Like everyone, I have opinions, but the value of a forum, for me, is to learn, gather information and share, not to step on other people. Speaking ...
Best AV receiver to use as an AV pre amp I assume your question is budget driven at least to some extent. If so, "get separates" isn't a helpful suggestion. I'd take a look at reviews of some Marantz mid to upper mid priced AVRs. Marantz generally does a better job on music quality than ...
Getting into vinyl for the first time, need help Paraneer and Tbomgard hit the nail on the head. Pro-ject is a great entry level product, although they also have pricier offerings too. I've been very pleased both with sound and reliability. Cheers.
can I get your input on a inexpensive pre-amp Parasound P3 is an excellent choice and just under $1K. Very happy with mine.
Anyone else receive low offers right away ? So what is a "lowball" really? If I offer you 200 bucks for your amp and the market reasonably indicates it's worth the $1K you are asking, that's one thing. It is quite another if I offer you 800 bucks, especially if the market indicates your ask...
TT upgrade advice? You can't talk about TT upgrades without taking a look at Pro-Ject. They have several models in your price range which would represent an upgrade for you, with cart options. I love mine and when I upgrade it will likely be another Pro-Ject. |
