TV Audio to Wireless Headphones
@flyingduck  I don't see any screenshots but I think using the optical output should get you what you want. I connect the optical output on my TV to my DAC and the sound can play through the built-in speakers as well as through the stereo.
Surge protection
I recommend the Furman PST-8 line. Tested by Wirecutter and the let through voltage is low.   I had a different Furman unit a while ago (an M-8, I believe) and it seemed to have protected my equipment while I was away on vacation. Came back to f...
TV Audio to Wireless Headphones
I also found some cheap HDMI ARC enabled audio extractors on Amazon. These might work, but sound quality might not be the best.   RGBTEK HDMI ARC audio extractor RYXN HDMI ARC audio extractor
TV Audio to Wireless Headphones
I believe the device that gets plugged into the HDMI port needs to support ARC. Most likely the adapter you bought doesn't.   Your TV probably has an optical output. I would use that to an external DAC such as the JDS Atom DAC+ ($109) which is t...
Digital source upgrade suggestion?
I also forgot to mention that mconnect and BubbleUPnP feature integration with Tidal / Qobuz so you can use them to stream from those services to any UPnP client.
Digital source upgrade suggestion?
AirPlay isn't ideal because it's limited to 44.1 kHz / 16 bit. If you want to use listen to high-res material, you should use UPnP instead.   And you're right - if the Bricasti has UPnP capability, then it can already serve as a media renderer f...
will my itunes library on external HD play on the newer Mac music app?
Sorry about that link - must've copy / pasted the wrong URL.   Anyway, if you use a Time Machine backup or Migration Assistant to move your data from the old Mac to the new one, you might not have to mess with any settings at all.
Distortion using OPPO 103 w Streaming and CD's, but not with DVD playback
Sorry to hear that - it's a great player. Guess it's time to move on to streaming full time. Less moving parts to break. 😀
Portable amp for Beyerdynamic T1?
I recommend taking a look at the Topping G5 if you can stretch your budget to $299. Slim case with good clean power output. Note that the iPhone will require some sort of Lightning to USB adapter to connect to a portable DAC / amp. I also agree ...
will my itunes library on external HD play on the newer Mac music app?
@fuzztone ???   @musicslug Open up the Music app, go to Preferences, then select Files. Add your external drive as a Music Media Folder location - link.
Distortion using OPPO 103 w Streaming and CD's, but not with DVD playback
Using the built-in app to stream Tidal might be causing the issue. Oppo has since gone out of business and I bet the TIDAL application programming interface (API) has changed considerably since 2017 (the date of the last firmware update).
Rose 150B or New Streamer???
@wmbray123  Come to think of it, I guess you could also connect the optical digital output of the TV to the Rose as well.
Rose 150B or New Streamer???
I am auditioning a HIfi Rose 150B and think it sounds good but there are some audio dropouts when connected to my LG OLED tv by hdmi arc. This is an instance where it might be the cable - especially so if it's a long run. Try a swap if you have...
Streamed music sounds awful in my system and I don't know why ....
I agree with @juanmanuelfangioii, save your money. The main problem is that you're not using the MiND app to access and playback your music over the 780D. You'll probably need to set up file sharing on the PC that has your music library. Then the ...
Router for Audio Streaming
@yoramguy1  P.S., just to confirm my understanding: the tri-band mesh has a wireless backhaul which does not rob bandwidth from the devices and does not need ethernet backhaul, correct? You got that right. What you want to look for is a dedica...
