Dedicated lines - the better sounding 120v phase?
Typically you want to balance the load between the phases. That is the most important. If they are already pretty balanced I would go for the phase that has the least motors like the fridge - furnace on it. The startup for motors will cause minor ...
Rectifier tube keeps blowing
My first guess would be a bad cap in the filter section of the power supply. You seem to have an over current condition. Second guess would be a bad driver tube then maybe an output tube. I would have it checked out by a good tech. There are many ...
Audio Physic Scropio versus Dynaudio C1
Never heard the Audio Physic's but as a C1 owner I can't recommend it enough. Just traded my solid state (Bryston B100) for tubes (Octave V70SE) and couldn't be happier with the sound.
How close to the real thing?
Elizabeths answer +1 - I'll go as far to say BOSE is better than 5%. OTOH if the recording is bad - well it may very well be less than 75% - That's my opinion
Octave V70SE to drive Martin Logan Summits?
Great integrated. Can't say regarding the ML's but the V70SE handles my C1's with ease and has tremendous authority with both the KT88's and 6550's. The black box or super black will help lower the noise floor and add a hair more authority. I have...
Is Accuphase E450 and Dynaudio C1 a good match?
Forgot to mention that Dynaudio is the North American distributor for Octave products. I got my V70Se just before the RMAF and Dynaudio had a V70Se set up with the C1's and Wadia cdp.
Is Accuphase E450 and Dynaudio C1 a good match?
I'm not familiar with accuphase but reading the specs it should be fine. I have learned over the years specs don't mean much regarding how something sounds. I recently replaced my Bryston B100 for an Octave V70Se tube integrated and my C1's sound ...
Stand mounted speakers
Sorry as a C1 owner I think they are great. Should have mentioned Dynaudio special 25's if you like a more little forward sound (uses evidence drivers). Another good one is Sonus Faber Cremora Auditor M. Little more laid back than the C1's. Those ...
Stand mounted speakers
Dynaudio C1's.
How to shop for speakers?
I have to agree there is no easy answer. The absolute best way is in-home demos. That way you will know what it sounds like in your space with your setup. FWIW - my favorite speaker is the C4. I prefer them over the consequence ue (well except for...
What do you currently own as loudspeakers?
7.6 - You have to be kidding. That was a 9.5. Consider the way your question is worded. It reads as if it is the speaker you are asking about. I'll go as far as to add the room is as huge of a factor as system synergy. That should bring to me a 9....
What's the objection to Floor Standing Speakers?
Good one Catfishbob. In my room I have yet to find a good floorstander. To me so far the floorstanders are too forward in the mids and the imaging is not real sounding. There was a wall of sound like I was in a huge concert hall. I prefer the band...
What do you currently own as loudspeakers?
Ok I give My Dynaudio C1's a 9.995. I like to listen to almost anything but prefer Classic Rock - New Age - Jazz but not in any order. What I've missed in my previous speakers is prat - detail and most importantly to me is 'air' between the instru...
Bryston B-100 or Luxman L-507u?
First I haven't heard the Luxman but being a former Bryston B100 owner all I can say is 2 things. Seriously consider the warranty and voltage specs. The B100 is a fantastic integrated. Had I not discovered the world of tubes I would have upgraded ...
Naim Supernait with Vienna Acoustic Beethoven Baby
My brother in law has those speakers which I have listened to a lot and like. I was considering the supernait for a while and although the wattage rating looks low they are far from that. It is a high current amp with great authority and prat. I w...
