This is no joke. I agree with Chrissain. I have added sand to my speaker stands and it made a big difference just as Chrissain stated.
Dynaudio C1, why so expensive? Thanks for the reply Chuck. Until now I never heard of the Caravelles. BTW my Bryston is gone and just replaced it with the Octave V70se. What an improvement!!Bigbucks5The baffle is not aluminum, it is some kind of composite wood material.I meant ...
Dynaudio C-1 or Harbeth-7-es-III As a C1 owner (never heard Harbeths) I vote for the C1. I also (on Monday) just moved from SS (Bryston B100) to Octave V70se tubes. Fantastic system synergy.Ideally you need to listen to them both preferably in your home with your electronics.
Dynaudio C1, why so expensive? I'm just glad they didn't cost me as much as the Magico Mini II's at 32,000 or even Tidal starting at 18,000.Krell_man I've personally compared them a number of times at different dealers when I was auditioning other components.Hi Chuck. Did you c...
Dynaudio C1, why so expensive? You get what you pay for. I own C1's and the build quality is first rate. Made with real wood veneer on HDF. Machined 1 piece aluminum isolation baffle. They are designed and manufactured at Dynaudio. The binding posts - screws and internal wiring...
Most attractive power cables? Nordost Odin
Norsost Thor vs. Running Springs Dmitri The Nordost Thor is more of a power distribution system (with level 1 quantum) where the running springs is a conditioner. That being said I have no experience with the running springs line. There are plenty of very positive reviews.
YG Acoustics or Dynaudio Never heard the YG's but do own C1's. Depending on your room size and seating position both Dyn's are great speakers. That being said my room is approx 12' X 26'. Speakers on the long wall (I have no other choice). At my Dyn dealer the C2's kick b...
Long run with USB or Toslink? As Ericjcabrere notes the Toslink is the way to go. Don't push usb to that length.
Good cheap anti-static spray? I imagine static guard would work. I do use the Nordost eco3 and have gone through about 1/4 bottle in the last year and a half. I spray it on a micro fiber cloth then wipe down my cables. I only use it when my system doesn't sound quite right and...
A "blind" speaker recommendation based on specs... Me personally I learned a while ago specs don't mean a whole lot. Your ears should be the judge. That being said I agree with Tvad regarding 4 ohm speakers with your amp.
Sealing ported enclosure to reduce boom I agree with stuffing the ports too. You may want to position them differently (more or less toe-in - closer or farther from front or side walls - etc). If what you are asking about adding 'fill' as in adding sand or shot to them that will tighten...
omnivore newbie's dilemma It sounds really beautiful but I'm thinking of grabbing the tube amp for a little more detail, etc. Am I on the right track? My personal opinion is you get more detail - bass and dynamics from a solid state amp. For me tubes are a more liquid of a ...
Can Interconnects be converted to speaker cables Many speaker cable users employ quite thin wires very successfully.Yes that is true but usually many wires. My Nordost frey speaker cables use 28 24 gauge wires where the ics use 6 26 gauge wires. Capacitance and inductance is quite different too.
Can Interconnects be converted to speaker cables I agree with Alexs. Most (not all) interconnects are typically less than 20 gauge. Interconnects run a very low voltage and current where speakers require a LOT more current. That is why you would want a heavier gauge for the speakers. |
