How to remove tarnish from OLD Silver wire? I have some pure silver wire (solid core UP-OCC 99,99%) left that I bought 4 years ago from reliable German resellerPersonally I would go for a liquid silver cleaner then follow it up with something that will prevent oxidation from re-occurring.
interconnect burn in via tuner? Leave the tuner on and the integrated off. Won't hurt the integrated at all.
Fuse on Shanling SACD player Some fuses are located IN the iec connector.
Ayon and Octave Forgot to mention that Octave has only been in the USA for about 2 years. Octave (located in Germany) has been in business for over 20 years. So there may not be too many Octave owners in the states.
Speaker cable made in USA? Fusion Audio - Nordost - Jps are a couple more
Ayon and Octave As a C1 owner I have never heard the Ayon series. But I do own the Octave V70SE. My Octave dealer does have a used V70 but I never heard it so I can't comment what the differences are between it and the SE version. My SE does have a balanced input...
B&W 805 Diamond or Dynaudio C1 ?? Peter_sAt my dealer I demoed the C1's in a room that is 15 X 25 and they sounded great. It will depend on the setup and equipment you have. I have to listen nearfield in my room 12 X 26 and there is some loss of bass in the 'sweet spot'. What I fo...
Long Cables w/Short Speaker Cable or Vice Versa? My 2 cents worth. If the IC's are XLR (truly balanced input and out) the long 15' run is not a problem. Then I would pop for a better but short speaker cable.
B&W 805 Diamond or Dynaudio C1 ?? As a Dyn C1 owner all I can say is they are the most natural life like speakers I ever heard. I have never been fatigued by them. In fact 1 problem that I have with them is I have an extremely hard time walking away from them. That being said I hav...
Voltage regulation Thanks Irish - Yes both the distributor and manufacturer both are aware of that problem. They have been very good about tube replacement too. I think I'm on the last step of things to look for and try before sending it in for repair.
Power Tubes for ARC VT100 MkI. Genalex or SED? The SED 6550's have been out of production for a while now from what I've heard. That being said I have the SED 6550's and Genalex Gold Lion KT88's but in an Octave integrated. Personally I think the GL KT88 has better deeper bass with a slightly ...
Voltage regulation 10 volt swing per day WOW. As far as linear power supplies they are generally designed to work with +/- 10% of the standard 120v. So for me I would think 132v would be my upper limit. At any rate I have been trying to keep my bias down. I've lost ...
Voltage regulation I don't hear a difference but am more afraid of damaging my equipment.
Voltage regulation Hey Everyone Thanks for the responses. Any recommendations for a sub 1k budget limit (new or used).
Voltage regulation Chuck It raises the output voltage by 3V. That pushes the output to 130V. Other than that the Topaz Isolates only. No regulation. |
