Phono Pre-amp with XLR Shouldn't ALL phono cartridges be balanced/low inmpedence? It seems like all TTs should have balanced/"low z" outs as the signal is so tiny from the cartridge it could assuage the loss issue...and issue assuaging is good. I want to live in a balan...
Does your amp/preamp/int amp have to look good? My Kavent S33 preamp looks like a circa 1987 VCR with a lame "Kavent" font on the front, 2 knobs (no balance), a cheezy LED display, and and the remote says "remot"...but it's such an astonishingly great sounding preamp I could not care less about...
Forte Model 55 Amp I'd really like to see the manual for the "55"...if you can email it to me, thanks in advance! I plan to send mine to Soderberg if I ever think it needs to sound better. I hope he stays in business for a while...
Two subs or not Two subs? Used RELs (ar any good sub) can be the way to go...I have a room about the size of the one described, and my single REL Q150E (circa 2001 10" forward firing) sounds great set around a third of its volume knob setting...adjusted slightly up or down...
Variations in how your system sounds? Emotion, ear wax, humidity, lack of humidity, lack of emotion and ear wax...if things were experienced in a state of static sameness we'd all go insane from boredom. We experience the differences between things like light/dark/loud/soft/feel good/...
Forte Model 55 Amp Cool...although "amp suett" sounds like bird food. I appreciate the addition to the miniscule amount of Model 55 info I can find...I'm looking forward to another 10 months between posts to the thread, and, by the way, the "55" just keeps sounding ...
Suggestions for current blues guitarists To guitar players there are few who amaze as much as Sonny Landreth. Jaw dropping.
Which band's vinyl catalog is consistently great? Little Feat and Steely Dan always get a lot of time around my house...if you were a musician in the 70's you understand.
Variations in how your system sounds? Rok2id...from earlier in the thread: "I recently bought a Hi-Fi Choice magazine with a free System Set-Up disc." That's how. I'm here to help.I have to warn the doctor that by "foreswearing alcohol" the girls will not get prettier at closing time,...
Variations in how your system sounds? Rok2id: The disc was free, so along with your inability to explain how a disc can demagnetize my system you rendered your entire response irrellevant. I replaced the cheap $1 outlet for my system with a PS Audio Power Port. That's something I DO u...
Variations in how your system sounds? I've used that ear wax removal stuff (ear drops then you douche with water) for years (musician) and it is kinda amazing, and for me completely necessary.
Variations in how your system sounds? I recently bought a Hi-Fi Choice magazine with a free System Set-Up disc. It's pretty entertaining, especially the soundstage tests...and it has a burn-in track with demagnetisation which I DO NOT understand...how can playing a digital track on a ...
lp grunge I was raised in Honolulu...isn't that pretty far south? We learned to tolerate elitist gasbags who reveal their insecurities with snarky claims of superiority. I think it's kinda cute.
lp grunge To be clear...nobody who has been "brought up" has a "lack up upbringing", or they simply wouldn't be up. Specificity counts in reparte'. I think Rok2id makes some valid points, and all of us who enjoy the sweet sound of analog and marvel at the f...
lp grunge Somebody else in here noted the AQ mat being sticky and weird...not that that's a BAD thing...I bought one of those carbon felt anti-static mats and it works great although you do need to do try not to get dandruff on it when leaning over to que s... |
