Music Lovers Speaker vs. Audiophile Speaker Museum Grade is a new term for me. Is there a Mausoleum Grade? How about Art Gallery Grade, or Restaurant Grade, or Road Grade (I am inclined to use that one)…Below Grade. And how do you stop being an audiophile? Therapy? I try to listen to record...
Synergistic Red Fuse ... Goldencutt…not knowing things like grammar and punctuation and how your Tesla works (no mystery to any of that by the way) might work for you, but my position on this over hyped baloney has been clear. SR uses terms in its production description t...
Silverline Speakers Minuet Supreme Plus - Sonatina MKIV Somehow the 3.75" (or 3.5" inch depending on who's measuring) metal drivers in my Silverline Preludes create midrange nirvana beyond what you might expect. Well done Alan Yun (and REL who make the bass kick it up).
Music Lovers Speaker vs. Audiophile Speaker Music Standards vs. Audio Standards? Do those standards actually exist? I imagine Audio Standards have something to do with pink noise…or white noise…or, to be inclusive, "blacker blacks." (!) Speaker preference is an utterly personal and taste dr...
Should I build plinths or screw spikes into cabinet? I'm anti spike for speakers since putting Vibrapods under my Silverlines. Keeps them independent of floor vibes and they simply sound better than they did with spikes.
Synergistic Red Fuse ... Yeah…since I question this nonsense and the motivation behind the "over the top" promotion of SR’s technically unexplainable and likely useless products in a room full of believers, I do row against the tide. If some of the uber sensitive among us...
Synergistic Red Fuse ... In Oregonpapa's response to my last post all the analogies he noted were irrelevant, and he likely knows this as clearly it's not in his interest to let reality interrupt his mysterious shill for SR (kickbacks galore I reckon). Almarg makes his ...
Synergistic Red Fuse ... Seriously, I've never seen a more substantial boatload of nonsense on any thread. Now outlets are supplying a sort of passive tone manipulation? Outlets with good grip on plugs make sense…hospital grade or whatever ( I use PS Audio power ports bec...
Vintage Sonus Faber vs New Scansonic Nicely designed speakers can last a really long time. I have a pair of old UK Made KEF Q10s I used for studio monitors for years and now are relegated to elsewhere but still sound great…20 years old maybe?
best integrated amp. Ditto the Rogers stuff as it sounds and really looks cool, although it's pricey…I spent some time with the Kt150 version and it's sweet sounding with pure 1950s styling and only 4 power tubes which seems more civilized.
Need wiring diagram for Neutrix connector to REL T7 sub I think the fuse thread is dominated by some who have a weird agenda to promote these things, and it comes off really unsavory…I don't mind if people tweak away with whatever they think works, but if I smell even a whiff of hard sell for something...
Need wiring diagram for Neutrix connector to REL T7 sub The markings on all my Speakon plugs are really tiny, but there…tiny…
Subwoofer The low frequency capability (listed as -3db) of most main speakers is generally where not much bass is going on and that's fine…thinking my Silverline Preludes with 3.75" (larger than the 3.5" listed, but still) woofers get any real bass at the 3...
Need wiring diagram for Neutrix connector to REL T7 sub 1+, 2+, 1-. The plus Neutrik from the positive amp posts, the negative from one of the negative posts. There ya go.
Best cartridge/stylus under $80? After a new AT440 sounded way too bright in my system I stuck a Sumiko Pearl on my Akito a couple of years ago and have never looked back. This is a great sounding full range and (seemingly) accurate cartridge that really pulls the mojo out of the... |
