Guttenberg's Cornwall IV Review -- I'm in trouble I'm sticking with my Heresy III/REL subs (2) rig as it's comparatively diminutive and kicks a**. However, I've heard both the Forte IIIs and new Cornballs...uh Cornwalls...sorry...and yeah, both sound great but seem El Giganto. Especially the Cor...
Watts and power My wife uses a heavy QSC 350wpc a/b power amp in a "road case" in her "home" office whenever she's working from home...it works perfectly and silently since it's being used as a foot stool. Highly recommended.
Schiit Freya S or Freya +? I much prefer the tube mode of my "original version and no, you can't get one" Freya, and it does get surprisingly warm over the transformers....however, after a couple of years with this thing I've decided that's part of its charm, and the many v...
Klipsch Heresy IV Yeah...10hz is right...oops.
Which material sounds better for speakers construction? Wood, Ply or MDF? I prefer speaker cabinets made of ice if you can keep the listening room cold enough...otherwise you wind up with a wet pile of components on the floor and, seriously, nobody needs that.
I have a set of professionally balanced Hafler amps. I need a good preamp for the system Try a Schiit Freya +...an amazingly well designed preamp.
Ebay sellers switching tubes I've bought NOS tubes from Ebay with excellent results...just pick the sellers carefully and make sure there's a return policy.
Klipsch Heresy IV The cabinet size is obviously important when a speaker is ported, as you're just not going to simply stick a port in there without considering everything...including what the "new" 12" bass driver's design might be. Roy Delgado did a great job wit...
Looking for floorstading Non-tower speakers Klipsch Heresy IIIs should be relatively inexpensive as they just came out with the IV version. Both are non towering towers, and my experience (the IIIs) with 'em is they're a great sounding design and a cool size.
Klipsch Heresy IV I would like to hear the IIIs and IVs side by side in an audition as that could be fun...I like my IIIs enough (including their lack of ports) to hang with 'em for a long time until IVs become less pricey, and since I just read a review of some al...
Klipsch Heresy IV They redesigned other things with this speaker including the drivers and crossovers, and that interests me...the rear port doesn't interest me so much because I prefer having the sealed box "accurate bass to its limits" with my Heresy IIIs, and ea...
fair complaint about Audiogon, violating no guidelines, removed Audiogon lets plenty of sketchy stuff get through, especially posts that don't agree with me 100% or recognize how hilarious and smart I am. A mystery...I do think they should be a little tougher on whining though as that's simply tawdry and distu...
Itching for better sound Heresy IIIs are indeed a high end speaker and reveal what's in front of them beautifully and very efficiently with, of course, all sorts of music from BB to Britton (no good speaker system is "music specific")...very balanced and coherent sound, a...
Schiit not that Good? Polish them horns devilboy, and wash that little superhero suit before Mom comes home...Single ended tube amps with or without transformers..."dude"...however, apples are crunchy or not, can be red in color or green or speckled or otherwise, and h...
Schiit not that Good? I disagree with the distortion argument since my SEP (pentode, not triode...a little more power) likely is running on a couple of watts until louder things require maybe 5 or so (in my estimation anyway), and the amp with 99db speakers ain't worki... |
