Clapton Me and Robert Johnson What I'd like to know, does Eric play his guitar on this album? Does Eric sing in his own voice, or does he try to sound like an old bluesman like he did sometimes on "Cradle?" Clapton is a hard guy to figure out? He has the gift of being a great ...
Vinyl playback is still a secret Elizabeth, I believe you just might inspire me to spin the black circle again. At least my old favorites. It does seem kind of crazy to let them just sit in the closet. I think I'm going to give it a whirl for a few weeks just to experience it aga...
too much hype in audio I feel sorry for you guys.
Great country music recording The Jayhawks - "Hollywood Townhall." I think this is their best, even though they are all pretty good.I second Doc Watson - "Memories", or "On Stage" because I think when he played with his late son Merle he was at his best.Waylon Jennings - His b...
Your favorite recent discovery The Gibson Brothers. This is a country/bluegrass band. The album is called "A Long way back home." Great music, great recording.
Badfinger They were basically sponsored by the Beatles, and McCartney/Lennon wrote "No matter what." Badfinger was an alright group but to compare them to the Beatles is LOL. They played the same style of music as the early Beatles but had nowhere near equa...
Music News Update March Thanks Ben. BTW, if you hear/buy the new Clapton would you consider doing a review for the rest of us? I'm a little gun-shy when it comes to Eric.I'm thinking it might be really good since it should be blues based guitar music. However, I'm hoping...
killer violin tracks. It's a Beautiful Day - "White Bird." This is a rock band from SF in the 60's. "White Bird" is a great song off a good album with a darn good violin solo on it.
Album which you have listened to most? 1. The Who - either "Who's Next" or "Quadrophenia"2. Frank Zappa - "Apostrophe/Overnite Sensation" (on same cd).3. Doc Watson - "Memories"
How does one get off the merry-go-round? I really like the sound of my gear so I haven't bought any equipment for many years. I am thinking of buying A Dac though, since I like using my 100cd changer but realize it isn't the best cdp. I am waiting for the prices to go down.I always get e...
OK, Here's One For You, Industry Quantification... No numbers just opinion. It's a small industry. In High End Audio, most of us have much better audio systems than our friends. Some posters on the "gon" have said they don't know ANY audiophiles in their home area, ANY! World over, how many audiop...
How much does your system retail for? About $8000
What other obsessions do you have? I like cooking fine meals. Drinking microbrew, homebrew, or wine. Traveling. With my wife.I also am very into politics and current events and spend a lot of time watching and reading what is going on in this crazy world of ours.Sports is a diversi...
Cars. What does the typical audiophile drive? I drive a old pickup so I can afford more music.
would you bother? I still say, whichever components you upgrade will probably sound better. Some cd recordings are great, some are bad. Some vinyl recordings are great, some are bad. If I have a great cd player & DAC for instance, I believe cd will sound better... |
