Cpdunn99, is the acoustic album with J mclaughlin and Santana called "Welcome"?
Which components knocked you out on first listen?
My Nestorovic 5AS speakers. I auditioned them at HIgh End Audio in the Twin Cities back in the mid- 80's. It was love at first listen, and still is. I hope they don't ever wear out because I"ve never wanted any other.
Best drink while listening to your rig?
A good German hefeweizen; Ayinger, Franziskaner, Paulaner, Hacker-schoor, a hoppy American micro IPA, or maybe one of my own concoctions.
Audiogon "RECORDINGS TO DIE FOR" list
Even though the following may not be my 5 favorites (Beatles, Stones, Who, Led etc) I am attempting to list a few that aren't here already.1. The Butts Band - "The Complete Recordings." Two former Doors make two albums as the Butts Band, the cd i ...
Any Zydeco recommendations?
The Cajun All-Stars. This has Sonny Landreth on guitar and Michael Doucet from Beausoleil on fiddle to name a couple. Great instrumental Cajun/Zydeco music and excellent sound.
Recommendation for guitar duo CD
Doc and Merle Watson, "Memories" or "Live on Stage."
Underestimated, song, artist or group '' gems'' ?
The Butts band. Robby Krieger and John Densmore(post Doors) were in this band. They only put out two albums in their history. You can get both on one cd from Amazon, it's called the "Complete recordings". This is great music. The first half is mor...
Favourite Guitar CDs
Wishbone Ash "Argus", Frank Zappa "Apostrophe" and "Overnite sensation" (get the cd with both of these on one disc if you can), Allman Brothers nuff said, Richard Thompson "The Old Kit Bag."
I need a female jazz vocalist. No Krall, No Norah
Alice Spencer, Victrola, "Live as you Like." You can order this from Waterloo records in Austin. This one's almost a guarantee.
Impressions on Talking Heads Box Set
Great, if your a big "Heads" fan. You may want to get "Sand in the Vaseline" instead if not, but I don't know what that sounds like.
BC's 2003 Remasters/Reissues
I'm on a roll. Just got a computer. I've been itching to get my two cents worth in for a while so duck, here I come. I've been backfilling my favorites from the 60's and seventies with re-masters. Rory Gallagher; "Live in Europe", "Live at the BBC...
Which artists do you just not get?
I don't get the Moody Blues. All my friends dug them since the 60's. I always thought they were grandiose, pompous windbags, but then I like King Crimson, so go figure.

On another post I recommended Doc Watson. He plays bluegrass and country blues. Absolutely fantastic. All his stuff that I've got, "Memories", "Trouble in mind", and "live on stage" to name a few have great music and sound. Essential!!!! His stuff...
Best female vocals on CD
Alice Spencer of Victrola on "Live as you Like." This is a band I heard in Austin Texas at the Continental Club. She has a great voice (my wifes favorite too). The music is kind of jazz, but to me also kind of "broadway show tune." The band and so...
