Linlai E 6sn7 tubes I have a stash of 24 middling NOS 6SN7 tubes including GE, Raytheon, etc tubes, which will get me though this pandemic. The new Chinese tubes are much preferred. I got the stash of 6SN7's some years ago for $10-$20 a tube, all fully tested.

Linlai E 6sn7 tubes I ordered the Linlai tubes suggested by Don from Helen in China, who informed me that there would be a delay in shipping. Extra tubes in the closet are the way to go, like bullets in a magazine for a soldier: you can't have enough of them.
Power Cable Break In - Such a Change! Wow, ~$4400 for a power cord, $1200 more than the cost of my Don Sachs' Kootenai KT88 amp. It is vastly too expensive for my budget, but good for you finding joy with the cord.

Don Sach's pre amp Pesky_Rabbit, From a derivative stand point, Don Sachs has acknowledged that the inspiration for his preamp came from Roy Mottram's SP-14 preamp. Indeed, Roy mentions Don in his website so their relationship is very solid. http://www.tubes4hifi....
Are there speakers that disappear regardless of the recording? Two that come to mind are the above-mentioned Linkwitz LXmini's (where the sweet spot exists pretty much everywhere in the room) and the venerable Spica TC 50's and 60's. I heard a pair of ML Montis with a Lyndorf receiver and in the narrow swee...

Looks like PS Audio has a hit on their hands with the new speaker PS Audio's last attempt at a high end speaker went nowhere. Pretty stiff competition at this price point, not the least of which is the KEF Blade speakers.
Rooftop solar panels impact on audio SQ Thanks Roxy for your take. Delm, thanks for your links but adding Tesla batteries is out of my realm. That is whole different kettle of fish that I will not pursue.
Rooftop solar panels impact on audio SQ Thanks very much for your response, it is helpful to get audiophile's take on this. The efficiency of the new panels even compared to a few years ago is really amazing. I'd guess that an appropriate set of panels will cost me around $10K, more ...
Cube Audio speakers in Northern California? No joy in trying to to send you an email. It is not possible?
My new VTV Audio Class D amp arrived today Doug, I sure agree that these new Class D amps are amazing. I thought years ago that analogue sound reproduction was kaput, but nothing could be further from the truth. I think Atmsaphere and Pass Labs, among others, are going to gravitate to...
My new VTV Audio Class D amp arrived today I swapped out my tube amp for the VTV amp yesterday for the heck of it and again I marvel at how musical the VTV amp is, no question, just clean clear power. I listened to it for hours and hours yesterday and loved it more as the listening went o...
Cube Audio speakers in Northern California? Cool. So long as you avoid Ignacious J. Reilly's hot dog carts, it was my experience that you are always assured of a delightful meal in NOLA. I ate so many fresh oysters at a nice place one night that I thought I would not eat again for a week... |
