My journey has had Magnepans, Martin Logans, Vandersteen, Dahlquist and others...and somehow I remember listening to the 1.2 and that memory was/is one of the best in my audiophile trip.  I later owned the 1.5 and 6 and remember the 1.2 the most f...

In its heyday the CES in Chicago was a great experience.  At McCormick Place most of the larger, more mainstream companies were there and many of the higher end audio companies were in rooms at surrounding hotels.  I once had the honor to be in a ...

The shams, scams and dead ends of the High Fidelity hobbie/passion/adiction
In the early days I had both a Beta and VHS player, the TV station I recorded commercials at used a pro form of Beta.  This could be folklore, but I had been told that Sony wanted royalties for Beta and JVC did not for VHS...hence the success of V...
Radio Days..............and you?
From my audio memory/the past, I feel my radio listening peaked with a Magnum MD-108 I had through various Classe and Conrad-Johnson amplification and some very good interconnects into Maggie 20 speakers.  The public radio station in Madison, Wi. ...
Any still using the Dahlquist DQ-10 speakers?
It could be a little nostalgia getting to me, but even with Maggie 20, various Martin Logans and the like, the DQ-10 still hold a warm spot in my audio memory.

How much is "LOUD" still a reference point for some?
wspohn304 posts  ....Well said.
Radio Days..............and you?
Something I learned, embraced some years ago.  A twenty year old Ferrari is not a bad car, just like many old FM tuners are not bad radios. Most technology builds on what has come before, as are many things in culture, technology.

Can anyone give details on some multi-channel thoughts/purpose?
Thank you for the thoughtful replies.  It seems like many things in life, it does depend on the intent/purpose.

Thanks for your responses.  An ability to play well softly or loud is up to the buyer/owner desire and taste choices.  Nothing wrong with loud or soft....as long as any neighbors are o.k. with loud. Take care in this time of concerns.
