To venture back into vinyl or not,...that is the question.
Good questions and thoughts.  My reason for considering a turntable is a decent collection of records.  MoFi, DG. and "special" pressings from other companies.  Even though I handled and keep my records very well, I cannot say I miss the surface n...

Thanks to all for your input.
Best "Bang for the Buck" you have owned?
There were Saul Marantz, Henry Kloss and other big time people in the audio industry.  Another was Andy Pettit....I believe he was part of early Boston Acoustics.
Damn, what a joy to have good College FM stations.
Thanks for   WUCF  a real treat. Jim
Jazz is not Blues and Blues is not Jazz.......
Each to his/her own, and freedom to like whatever one likes.  But like country-rock, "lite-classical,  and other hybrids...some may like and some may not.  As much as I like B.B. King, I do not consider him Jazz and I do not consider Paul Desmond ...
Jazz is not Blues and Blues is not Jazz.......

A question for those in the know about streaming FM/Music sound quality
If it is of high sound quality, I can do whatever actually does the job.  As with the CJ ART pre...price is always a consideration, but not always the dog that shakes the tail.
Nostalgia, fond memories and judgement on now vs. then equipment ?
I have had many sports cars and raced at one time....road races, Road America and the like,...not drag strips. That said, most of the great old cars I had in the past are still great old cars, but in many ways time/technology has progressed beyond...
20 Year Old Amplifiers compared to 2017
Perhaps hype, but I have wondered this topic on many consumer products, esp. automobiles.  A Lotus Turbo, Ferrari, Porsche of 20+ years ago  will qualify for antique plates in many states.  Are they still SOTA, well that is in the  driver's opinio...
Decent tuner with a headphone output and volume control
Thanks.  It seems that streaming may be like any other source....as in the phrase, "it depends".
Decent tuner with a headphone output and volume control
Thanks for the input.  A  question for a novice like me, is streaming high fidelity sound quality or is it compressed and a sample of the music but not the actual music.  Sound quality is very much what AudiogoN and other audiophile sites are/were...
Tuners you wish you had back?
I should include the CT-7000, although I only used the one from a store I worked at, but did not own it.  From memory, the CT-800 was about 85% of the CT-7000.
Tuners you wish you had back?
a 2nd + for the Sansui TU-919 Also I briefly had a TU-X1 but actually remember little about it. I spent some wonderful nights with the 108 Magnum and a local college Jazz station where an very, very good active drummer played simply some of the be...
My used Magnepan 1.6's are missing sparkly treble. Why?
most of the demag/burn-in disks can be had used on ebay or other sources.  There is a clarity of sound after using them that does fade with time.
My used Magnepan 1.6's are missing sparkly treble. Why?
any demag type of disk may help.  The Shefield or others.
