Favourite / most impressive audio store KJG, is right on about individual staff vis a vis a store. My long time favorite was Innovative Audio in Brooklyn, New York. They and I have since moved, so I can't speak on them currently. If all is still well, ask for Bob.
pure class A? Bear, great job! Thanks. Sean don't underestimate your self.
40hz ratings/speaker response Once again, I agree with Sean. While I don't think your amp is really the problem, more power wouldn't hurt.
SACD finally taking-off? non-classical listeners We have all heard for years and years that the problem with CD is that it was limited to begin with. Now with not one but two options (probably the biggest problem) and people are complaing that they don't want an expanded format because it's too ...
Dunlavy SC-IV vs. Aerial 10T characteristics Bulldogger, you might want to check out what TacT is doing beyond "the current state of digital chips".
1,500 tube preamp which one? I think the Sonic Frontiers Line will work nicely. Tubes, balanced out (2x)and RCA (2x), DC coupled, low out-put impedance(for tubes), well built, nice remote, and IMHO neutral sound.

best sub for 150 hz and below The only subwoofers I know of that crosses-over that high are the unusual TacTs.

HELP... 2 yr. old pushed in the dust cover My circumstances are a bit unique. Lets just say, you learn real quick to get your priorities in order.
Dunlavy SC-IV vs. Aerial 10T characteristics That "Bow Tie" may be the shape of things to come. John Dunlavy told me that he is just waiting for consistent high quality high bit digital chips, so that he he can mass produce such a speaker. The shape is supposed to present a better sound stag...
Dunlavy SC-IV vs. Aerial 10T characteristics There has been a change in ownership. The new SCIII's appear to have similar design characteristics as the Aletha/Cantata (MTM array w/ down firing woofer).
Dunlavy SC-IV vs. Aerial 10T characteristics Let me preface this with an admission of prejudice. I'm not a big fan of surround sound. The only times I've heard it work is with 3 identical speakers, cables and amplification all set up the same way in front (all vertical and equidistant from l... |
