SACD finally taking-off? non-classical listeners
Albertporter, I don't know whether I'm delighted or dismayed. I value your judgement, as I appreciate your commitment. Your experience with quality digital reads as being more satisfying than I have experienced. But, the fact that it can't seem to...
SACD finally taking-off? non-classical listeners
I don't think anybody really expects one to replace their entire library with the latest "Johnny come lately". Old titles are rereleased so that new comers can enjoy them on "their" systems and to expand the use of recordings so that they may be u...
SACD finally taking-off? non-classical listeners
It occured to me that if some of the arguments used against SACD were used years ago, we would only have one band on our radio dial, AM.
Shipping prices and buyers...
I don't have a lot of experience with this, but I think PerfectImage and Angella100 might be right. The sender has a much clearer idea of what is necessary packaging. The reciever may be clueless and even if that's not the case has little control ...
Favourite / most impressive audio store
KJG, is right on about individual staff vis a vis a store. My long time favorite was Innovative Audio in Brooklyn, New York. They and I have since moved, so I can't speak on them currently. If all is still well, ask for Bob.
pure class A?
Bear, great job! Thanks. Sean don't underestimate your self.

Dunlavy SC-IV vs. Aerial 10T characteristics
Bulldogger, you might want to check out what TacT is doing beyond "the current state of digital chips".
1,500 tube preamp which one?
I think the Sonic Frontiers Line will work nicely. Tubes, balanced out (2x)and RCA (2x), DC coupled, low out-put impedance(for tubes), well built, nice remote, and IMHO neutral sound.
Vinyl's Noise Floor
PBB, let me say once again I prefer digital to analog. But, AlbertPorter is absoultly correct. Despite all the technological hurdles analog has to leap(it's amazing it works at all!).I have never heard any digital source sound as good as a careful...
What Rags carry the most review weight???
I think that if you are looking for published advise (there are good reasons) you should find individual writters that seem to share your appreciations and prejudices. Most magazines have many writters with varied preferences and opinions. Further...

best sub for 150 hz and below
The only subwoofers I know of that crosses-over that high are the unusual TacTs.
