Audio envy - dang!
This thread has been quite useful to me.  I am doing some system upgrades and may well try some from Audio Envy as I will need new digital and interconnect cables.
Thoughts on vintage Accuphase
Vintage Accuphase is really well made stuff, but no gear is immune to the ravages of time.  So it is important to have the item checked out very well before buying.
Audio Research preamps EXCESSIVE OPERATING COSTS
My experience with Audio Research tube gear has been excellent.  The tube replacement cost is not out of line with other top tube equipment manufacturers.  Of course it is more expensive than having a solid state piece.  Seems like a lot of belly ...
As Good as a Mohican... But Used.
I had a Mohican in my system for about a month, swapped players with a good friend and fellow audiophile.  It is a nice unit but I felt my Sony SCD1 still sounded more natural overall.
Vandersteen 3A Sig vs Harbeth vs Spatial OB
Hello all, I appreciate the inputs given.
Electrocompaniet ECI 3 vs Primare A30.1/I30
I had a Primare I-30, I really liked its clean clear strong sound, driving my Vandersteen 3A Signatures. Quite a wonderful unit. It needed one repair and the Primare authorized repair center handled it nicely; they are in Washington state as I rec...
What do/did you do for a living?
Recently retired attorney. Loved music since youth, some classical training in early youth, discovered jazz, played in various small jazz bands in high school and college.
What's the best and/or favorite piece of equipment you've owned? And do you still own it?
My Audiomodded Sony SCD333ES 5 disc SACD player/changer. Still makes lovely music to this day, going on 16 years now!  Absolutely terrific sound, and without any harshness associated with CD's.  Really shines with SACD's.
Classé CP-700 Preamplifier Preamp Shutting Down
Yes, not a good sign, unfortunately.  Components do degrade over time, from heat and stress.  Capacitors go bad especially.
Issue with Tidal
I believe it is related to their recent software updates, which have been several.
Thiel Owners
I have had several pairs of Thiels over time.  They present some challenges to drive them well to higher volumes as they have low impedance and are not so efficient.  But their sound is beguiling and it is worth to the trouble to find amplifiers w...
Keith Jarrett may never play again
I view this thread to be about the loss of such a wonderful artist.  The man for all his foibles has brought gorgeous music to so many listeners for such a long time.  We who have enjoyed his work mourn the loss for him personally as he ages and d...
I may need to join A'gon Anonymous (AA)
I do as well.  We are all scrutinizing our systems for upgrades now that we are mostly home ad infinitum!  So you are not alone in this.
SQ! - avr vs high end stereo preamp, who wins SQ challenge? And why
AVR's have so many compromises in their design they rarely outperform proper 2 channel audiophile components.  This coming from someone of who worked at one of the big consumer electronics brands for years.
Kuzma 4 Point Tonearm
I really like my Origin Live arm.  Really high quality workmanship and superb sound.
