Fast forward 25 years, what will audio be like? I'll be in my 80's. If my ears still work I hope to still be hearing live concerts. I think I would be content with my present speakers. I expect improvements in the electronics by then but have no inkling as to where technology will take us.
Fleetwood Mac I have a lot of the Boston stuff--it's good, but start with the studio stuff. One of the first albums plus "Then Play On" would make sense. The Boston tapes contain a lot of extended jams that would not be everyone's cup of tea.
Fleetwood Mac Judy, I think that after Peter Green left it was all over. But there's no denying that every subsequent incarnation had its fans, esp. the last one. I'm not among the fans of the later groups but the first one was amazing.
What do you void listening? Ozzy, you might try some of Bruce's stuff where it's just him and an acoustic guitar. I find it to my liking whereas, like you, I've never liked his stuff with his band. Turns me off big time.
See what Country song was 1 on the day you were b It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels - Kitty Wells
Fleetwood Mac I'm a huge fan of the original band. I've never had any use for the later, post-Peter Green versions but I understand the appeal. It's weird to me that the original blues band could have ever morphed into the final version simply because the style...
Oderus Urungus found dead I saw them around 1990 with Three-Day Stubble at Liberty Lunch in Austin. They were outrageous and hilarious. Pretty good musicians, too. It was a show to remember, absolutely.Sad to hear of O.U.'s passsing. RIP.
SRV Instrumental tracks and similar artists It's a different sound, but checkout "Albatross" by the original Fleetwood Mac.

Does treble response beyond my hearing matter? " I find most music a lot less fatiguing these days than I did in my youth."Well, in my youth I listened to most things too loud and I often added more highs/lows. I used to think I needed to listen to rock music at concert levels. Now I realize t...
Rembering the 80s: College Rock "Before everyone maligns the 80s it also spawned hip-hop, house, acid jazz, and world beat movements"--and you're saying this is good?

Where is All the DSD? They stuck with Betamax for a pretty good while. But the quality of VHS rose, plus it was accepted in ridiculously high numbers. There was no where to go with Beta.
Help with compression and dynamic range You might try an old DBX compresser/expander but, of course, you are then introducing more noise and distortion into your system.
Most educational audition you ever had? Regardless of format (TT vs. CD) I would expect the results to be very recording-dependent. I gather the CD and the LP were not recordings of the exact same material. |
