Questions about tweaking Squeezebox software Thanks for the info guys. I guess I should have checked other sources before asking here; but, I tend to consider the information that I get here to be more reliable than information that I get elsewhere.Anyway, this is what I discovered, for thos...
Questions about tweaking Squeezebox software Sufentanil,Well, your speculation, at the least, offers an explanation that makes sense. Thanks.
best DAC for streaming to my 2 channel system? Well, it seems that you like Rega equipment, and rightfully so. Perhaps whatever it was that you listened to or a Rega DAC would be in order. If memory serves, the Rega will accommodate coax, toslink and usb. There may be many who will disagree wit...
Best Monitor not over 1K, new ot used Considering your taste in music, you might consider looking into the System Audio line. I found them to be outstanding for classical and jazz. The line is kind of hard to find in the states, but if interested, give Wilson Audio a call in Metairie, ...
best DAC for streaming to my 2 channel system? What do you have now? Are you new to streaming? As mentioned above, your question is hard to answer. Only you can say what sounds "best" in your system. If you are new to streaming and have no DAC at all, I suppose you just need a place to start. A...
Trying to find the right TYPE of preamp... I have an NAD C162 preamp. It has two sets of outs on it. One set of outs has a level adjustment on it, which could serve the purpose that you're chasing, although the know is on the back of the unit.

B&W 685 vs. Epos Epic 2 Since Paradigms were mentioned, I'll give another plug for them. Studio 10s or 20s would do nicely.
adding paradigm - which one 7semk3 or monitor 7.v3 I'm not quite sure of what it is that you're trying to do, but the Monitor series sounds nothing like the Studio series. I really wish they did. I could have saved a whole lot of money.
B&W 685 vs. Epos Epic 2 I agree on the Paradigms. I'm running a pair of the little Studio 10s right now. They never cease to surprise me. They may not be the best at anything, but they sure do everything well.
B&W 685 vs. Epos Epic 2 I found the 685s to be very musical in my system (Nad pre with Aragon 2004 amp). You should, however, take note that the Epos presents a nominal 4 ohm load, while the B&Ws present a nominal 8 ohm load. Will this create any issues for your amp?
