Perhaps a guilty pleasure....
I have no idea why you would call that a guilty pleasure. I saw Heart  a number of times. At least twice playing bars here in Vancouver and once or twice when they were at their peak. Great hits and two dynamite voices. Little River Band I saw a...
Ultimate stereo nightmare
@jerryg123  OCD is not a negative. Assures that everything is tidy and in its place. I have it as well and the nest of cables behind my rack is a constant source of aggravation. No matter how many times I make an effort to "clean things up", by...
A free tweak revisited
@pinthrift  "(bold print for old eyes)" Next stop, BOLD PRINT AND ALL CAPS Lol
REL speakon connection to amp vs speakers
@macg19  "@tony1954 for balanced amps you just need to "float" (not use) the ground for the supplied  speakon cables. The "issue" is 60Hz hum. Doesn't apply to either RCA inputs." The issue is not hum. The issue is that with balanced amplifiers ...

@macg19  "@tony1954 for balanced amps you just need to "float" (not use) the ground for the supplied  speakon cables. The "issue" is 60Hz hum. Doesn't apply to either RCA inputs." I am not sure you are correct with this. Below is the response I ...
48gbps Hdmi 2.1 Cable Recommendations
I know. Unfortunately I was banned from Ebay for reasons unknown to anyone. Used it a couple of times without any issues and a few years later couldn't log on. Contacted them to ask why and they wouldn't explain anything. Only said I was banned?...
REL speakon connection to amp vs speakers
Connecting to the speaker outlets is the recommended method, but be careful. With balanced amplifiers Rel recommends a different way of connecting subs, so do some research or there might be "issues".
RIP Jeff Beck
So sad. Saw him back in the 1980's and he was amazing.  That's the thing about getting old. Way to many deaths and funerals and too few marriages and birth announcements. Sigh.......
Subwoofer boom is too much for me...
1. Sell the ported sub. 2. Buy 4 sealed subs. 3. Do some research on distributed bass arrays. 4. You're welcome.
Subwoofer boom is too much for me...
Ported subs are for watching Avengers movies, not for serious listening. Boomy works for explosions, but not so much for listening to Ray Brown.
Fluorescent light noise through tuner
Unless you are willing to change the fluorescent lights to something else, move the antenna or move the entire system, I can't see your situation improving.
A free tweak revisited
I agree 100%. The less extraneous sensory input there is to interfere with my ears, the better it sounds. Perhaps that is why a few glasses of wine helps. It partially disconnects my brain.
Those singers you enjoy,....that don't really have a great voice?
1. Neil Young 2. LP 3. Joe Cocker 4. Boz Scaggs 5. Bob Dylan 6. Me in the shower
Best amp for Salon 2
@ac24  No problem. I just get so tired of the shameless greed. The best option is always a product that he happens sell. Very convenient isn't it.
Best amp for Salon 2
@ac24  "Thank you all. These are some solid recommendations in this thread." Correction: Numerous attempts to help you and one sleezy sales pitch by someone trying to make money off you.
