New speakers.
Hi James,I'm glad your search for a new player turned out so well. I haven't heard the AMR but it has a great reputation. That and the Pass amp should keep you satisfied with your electronics for quite a while. How old are the Zingalis? How much wo...
Any way to reduce pre-amp noise floor?
The good dealers will be willing to answer your questions and make recommendations. Don't be afraid to tell them you're not knowledgeable about tubes. If you're not sure after talking to someone, just tell them you need to think it over. They are ...
Any way to reduce pre-amp noise floor?
Whether you go vintage or current production buy from a reputable dealer. It will save you a lot of time and money. The good dealers are more expensive but their knowledge of tubes is worth the extra they charge. You have to learn quite a bit abou...
Any way to reduce pre-amp noise floor?
The 6922 is part of the 6DJ8 family along with the 7308. The 6DJ8 is at the low end, the 6922 is in the middle and the 7308 is the big brother. These tubes vary in their electrical characteristics but that stuff is over my head. Most people conside...
Which tubes to spend the most money on in a PV-5?
The information c-j gives is not enough for someone unfamiliar with the preamp to give recomendations about tubes. Call c-j and they will tell you what the purpose of the different tube positions are.If I recall discussions here correctly, the inp...

Dealer selling B stock doesn't tell customers
Mlsstl, And the purpose of your post is to demonstrate that you don't know how to spell and don't know proper grammar? Bravo!
Why does the copy sound better than the original
Cd-rs have an ink layer that is darkened by a writing laser. My experience with cd-rs is they become unreadable if they are exposed to light over a period of time. You can leave one sitting in the sun to demonstrate this effect in a shorter period...

Brass footers for speakers
Your footsteps would probably not make a concrete slab vibrate but probably would make a wooden floor supported by wooden joists vibrate.
CJ CT-5 vs. CT-6
I haven't heard them but the CT5 uses the 6N30P (aka 6H30P) tube while the CT6 uses the 6922. This could result in a significantly different sound but not necessarily. There should be some reviews around that might compare them.
MFSL reissues
They do have Special Limited Edition printed on the back but I think that means limited to the number they can sell. The Beatles did the same thing with their Limited Edition Mono CD Box. As soon as the original pressing of 10,000 sold out they cra...
