Speaker phase observation and question? I also have a pair of MA Silver 8s that I fiddled with phase for years, and was never quite happy with the results. They play loud, they play clean, but I never was completely happy with imaging, soundstaging and coherence.Bought a pair of Vanders...
Vandersteen help needed In my almost 14x14 room, after multiple experiments with placement, I've gotten the best, most natural, most holographic sound with my Vandy 2Cs 7 feet apart (measured from the center of the speaker), no toe-in, and 12 inches from the front wall (...

Please Critique my Setup and Recommend Upgrade(s) "I'm kind of blown away to see so many setups with uber-expensive gear and zero acoustic treatment"Excellent point, so very true. Amazing isn't it? So much $ spent on gear, little-to-nothing on room treatment.I'm equally guilty. Been in this hobby...
Bi-wires links for speakers ? Wires, Wires, Wires!Something so small that creates such a conundrum...Reading Stereophile back when Sam Tellig was still on staff. He made the (obviously jokingly) remark about speaker wires:"Look inside your speakers and use the same wire. If it'...

Planar speaker placement Jim Smith has an excellent book titled "Get Better Sound". He also is very familiar with Maggies and has an entire chapter devoted to planars.Invaluable aid for setting up a system to "play the room".Best $ you'll ever spend in this hobby...Tom |
