Have you found your "End-Game" speakers yet? I have. And it feels so good!!!
Had twelve pairs of "end game" speakers since 1975. Current pair are B&W 803 D3. Had them for a little over a year. Perfectly happy, so far...

@phillyb  Not only do I use the Invert Phase button on every disc, I use it at the beginning of every song. Even on the  same album some songs require it, some don't. I can tell usually within a few seconds if it's needed or not. I can't imagine...

@jafant  I am not using the USB input/output. I only listen to CDs. The Invert Phase button is very useful! Happy listening!

With a fireplace between the speakers and porcelain tile floors  it's good that you're going to think about acoustic treatment. You're gonna need it.

OP- Nice! I've got the 803 D3s. Have toyed with the idea of a couple subs. What benefits did you gain from adding them?

Place absorption panels at first reflection points front wall (the wall you're looking at behind the speakers), side walls, ceiling, and rear wall (the wall behind you). My dedicated room is treated just that way. Sounds wonderful. Yours will too.

My friend also lived in Texas, and also in the same radon level class as your county. Most homes here with basements have none to low levels of radon. His home had very high levels.

Perfect listening room. Congrats! Tested for Radon? Had a friend who spent time in his basement. Died from radon exposure. He was  in his 40s.
