Weird Setup - Will it Work?
You are quite right to hesitate over the setup you describe. The user interface is not only confusing, it is potentially destructive of the system! If I were in your shoes I would do whatever it took to make the loop condition impossible.I suspect...
shanling cd-t100 vs. cd-t200
Joeylawn36111, what speed did you use when you burned your CD-Rs on your computer? Single speed? Double? More? I never had difficulty playing single and double-speed CD-Rs on my T100 but any faster than that and problems tended to crop up.
Burn-in period for Shanling CD-T100
Mine sounded pretty tame to start with. (I also had the WE tubes.) It took 200 hours to sound really good. It was better after just 100 but still tame-sounding.I can't speak for the mods, I never had them done.
Triangle Speakers
I don't understand "the mark II version" either... the Tituses were sold in the XS version first, then the 202, then the current ES. I hope I have that right and that someone will correct me if not. Perhaps the one you have is the 202.I have the E...
Can anything beat Vintage Amps for the $$$?
I've put my aged HK930 up against a NAD C320BEE and the HK wins, by a small margin. All I have done to the HK is have it cleaned and replace the preamp-out power-in jumpers with OCC cables. That's not to say the NAD is bad, in fact some people mig...
Loth-x Troubadour in small room
IIRC from the Monteal show two or three years ago, the Troubadours go very nicely near a wall. In which case they seem like an excellent choice.

Tremendous RF problem -- phono stage is a radio
The first place to look, if my experience is anything to go by, is cabling. Sometimes moving your phono cables, orienting them differently, will solve an RF problem. If you haven't done so already, make sure that if they cross AC wires, they do it...
Need a Recommendation for Classical Cello...
Benjamin Britten's cello suites are quite different from the Bach ones. You might like them.
Best Isolation HRS? SRA? Zoethecus? Symposium?
To answer your question clearly: yes, an isolation device will make a big difference. Black Diamond Racing Cones give good bang for the buck. Symposium roller ball feet work a bit better, especially when you have the tungsten carbide balls, but th...
About Lugnut -- Patrick Malone
Maybe it's the timing... I get the strangest feeling looking at that picture of Pat and Barb. It's as though Pat's not here, but he's not gone either, and somehow he's looking out for... for me??! Now that is a strange thought but I'm keeping it. ...
Linn LP 12 Problem.......
Thanks for the follow-up...
What direction to take.
Active monitors, like any engineering solution, have a downside and an upside. The upside is that the amps are custom-matched to the woofers and tweeters, and the IM distortion generated by passive crossovers is eliminated. The sound turns out very...
Tremendous RF problem -- phono stage is a radio
I live in an area prone to RF interference, and I had problems with my previous preamp, a Copland tube model. It picked up taxi radios, among other things. When I switched to a Klyne SK-5a, the problem went away. It could have been the Copland's d...
Recommend a Used Solid State Preamp for About $5k
Nobody's mentioned Klyne. They are excellent SS preamps, and a used System 7 should be well under your budget, if you can find one.
