Greek Audiophile - Documentary Video
I lived in Greece for a few years back in the 80s. Those guys, their attitudes and inflections are exactly as I remember the Greek friends I made. Wonderful film. The filmmaker has several others on the site, they are all worth a look.
How do you "unfreeze" an ipod?
And if none of these suggestions work, take it to the local Mac store and let them fix it. They took my daughters ipod into the back room and came back 10 minutes later with a working unit.

Rock Concerts through your rig?
I don't go to rock concerts for the audio satisfaction. In fact I always wear ear plugs as I like to get as close as possible to the stage. Even at my age I enjoy the "groove" of the crowd moving with the music. Wouldn't attempt to duplicate this ...
Optimism in Music.
Anything by Nick Cave. That's a good one bday0000! The Beatles - "Here Comes The Sun." Not only a wonderfully uplifting song, but it leads off the best album side of all time, IMHO.
HT Receiver or High end integrated for music??
There is a trend here. I too have tried the HT recv route with unsatisfactory result. If you are serious about music the HT won't deliver. I've owned countless (seriously I can't remember them all) integrateds and my top picks depending on power r...
CD Buying Guide???
I bought the remastered "Tea For the Tillerman" a while back. Absolutely awful! What a shame because that album was exceptional and the memories are priceless. After that experience I've been leery of "remastered" label.
Upgrade for Thiel 1.6 - Or a waste of $$
To let you know where I'm coming from, a few years ago I owned a pair of Thiel CS-1.5s that were driven by Rotel RB-981 and Acurus A-200 at various times. I also used a pair of RB-981s bridged to mono. My impression was the Acurus may be the most ...
Best setup for Totem Arros...
I recently auditioned the Arros with the Rega electronics. The combination was very nice. I also listened to a pair of Rega speakers which were similarly priced to Totems. It was my first experience with Rega speakers and although the Regas were n...
inexpensive cd player as gift
Along with the NAD you mentioned you should add the C-541i or C-542. Very nice players with HDCD. If your brother is a vinyl guy he may appreciate HDCD. I owned the 541i and the Onix CD-88 and preferred the NAD.
If you haven't tried them, you need to...

Thiel 3.6's vs. Vandersteen 3 sigs
Hey Chad, not exactly sure where you stand on the Thiels, can you be a little more specific?
Large room but not large budget-suggestions please
I briefly owned the 2CE signatures and am currently using the LSi-15s. I didn't sell the 2CEs because of the sound as much as the placement issue. Although I will say the I prefer the Polks. Much like you said, I hear things with the Polks that we...
