HELP Electrocompaniet stole Christmas This is a realy lousy situation, but it is entirely emblematic of how much of the "high end" audio industry operates. I have seen many instances in which an importer massively inflates the retail price of an item compared to its' country of origin...
speaker cables recommendations From my experience, I would try the K400 first. It is really fantastic for the price and works better with Linn equipment than many far more expensive cables.
Linn vs Audio Research Marc, I've owned much of the gear you are considering. I've been able to listen extensively to the others, except the Apertura speakers. The options you mention would really be moving in different directions. If you, like myself, are a fan of Linn...
I Need to Mount Amps ON WALL+++ I've been through this before. There's nothing I could find strong enough "off the rack" to mount heavy amps on a wall. My solution was to get a Salamander Synergy rack with a door, sides and a back. The door doesn't come with one, but a cabinet l...
Linn activ cards installation They're super easy to install, and you'll be extreemly happy that you've gone Activ. Shoot me an email if you have any problems.

crimping vs soldering I like to do a high voltage electronic weld followed by cryo treatment and my patented magical cable dance to make sure all bases are covered. You cannot go wrong with my method.
Filling speaker cavities with cat litter I have tried this before, but once your cat craps in your speaker, you can never get the smell out of your listening room! Even if you don't have a cat, clay litter is too light to do any good. Lead shot is the way to go.
Are they ever going to remaster the Beatles? The rumor is that the Beatles will be remastered for SACD. Mobile Fidelity NEVER issued the Beatles on CD,in any country! They're all fakes.
Linn Ninkas aktiv vs. not? I would absolutely go Aktiv. It makes an incredible difference.
Speaker Polish? I'm sorry, but I don't know about any speakers or speaker maintenance products made in Poland. I understand that it is pretty wet over there, so I'd be more concerned about rot than drying out! I'm understand that the Kuzma TTs and Audes speakers ...
sony xa 777es how good? I have experience with the CD players you mention, and I own an XA-777ES. The Sony player is the equal or superior to all that you mention. I think that the Arcam FMJ player is really quite disappointing. I A-B'ed The CD23 against a Linn Genki, an...
Naim integrated compatible as a great preamp? I like Naim equipment although I don't currently own any. Of course you can use a Naim preamp with other brands, but you'll have to use special cables with the Naim DIN connector to RCA. I think the magical PRaT of Naim equipment comes from having...
Bringin' that thrift-store smell home My first recommendation would be to try some of the commercially available citrus oil cleaners/deodorizers. You can simply spray them around the area that smells, and they'll kill most odors. I'd try Basement's awesome rec second.
ARC Reference Phono vs. BAT VK-P10 SE Go for the ARC reference. It's an incredible piece of equipment. Wish I had one myself. |
