Audioquest Dragon Powercord vs Hurricane
DBS = dielectric-bias system.  It creates a constant dielectric field for the cable's primary capacitance field.  It's supposed to dissipate noise and eliminate distortions.
Audioquest Dragon Powercord vs Hurricane
@folkfreak I recently picked up a dealer demo of the low end of this line, the Thunder, and had not considered your quote below but it makes a ton of sense from my own experience.  The PC sounded "ok"  the first day I plugged it in but 24 hrs late...
Speakers
what kind of sound are you trying to achieve? Prepare to get many comments suggesting room treatments.
It was 50 years ago today...
My first vinyl purchase...I was 3 years old...and convinced my mom to buy me the 45rpm of Yellow Submarine to play on my plastic folding case phono on a wire rack stand.  The 8mm reels still exist showing me rocking out to it.
Proper Ground for Tonearm and Turntable
How are you attempting to use the grounding wires currently? I suspect this has more to do with the tonearm grounding than the plinth grounding.  Typically your tonearm ground wire would attach to the phono pre. I would try only using a tonearm gr...
Great sounding/recorded albums
My answer would be a vinyl playback system. Is that part of your rig? I could then provide some good vinyl choices.btw: One of my favorite live albums for sonics is Neil Young: Live at Massey Hall 1971 (it even sounds pretty good via Tidal ;-))
Bits bits bits from Upscale Audio
That's a refreshingly good article from Upscale.  Usually they end up loosely veiling an infomercial as a white paper but in the end promoting a PrimaLuna product.  I applaud them for not going there on this one.  The smugness of the crowd who loo...

AC Dedicated Line
@cleeds  It helps reduce voltage drop. Thanks.  Again, no electrical prowess here.  What would I notice in terms of sound quality during a transient voltage drop caused (at least in part theoretically) by not having enough amperage headroom (i.e...
AC Dedicated Line
I’ve often wondered why so many folks think they need a 20A circuit for their 2-channel audio systems. I have a 120W Class AB tube amp, tube preamp, tube phono pre, streamer/DAC, and TT. I’ve measured my power and amp draw with everything running ...
Power cord recommendation for a dac?

Power cord recommendation for a dac?
One dimensional thinking is tragically limiting in our understanding of the universe.  Just like one dimensional thinking where only DC laws of physics can apply to power cord performance.A good example.  Laws of physics say I should move away fro...
Interesting/unusual concert pairings.
The most infamous pairing I always think of was Led Zeppelin's first US tour in 68/69 when they opened for Country Joe & the Fish.
Power cord recommendation for a dac?
I bought an AQ Thunder power cord for my Codex on the recommendation of my dealer. Money well spent.@gdnrbob  Nice seeing your endorsement of the AQ Thunder.  I just ordered one today - a discounted dealer demo.  I've been noticing the AQ cables a...
Barometric pressure, temperature, moon phase?
I just noticed @kosst was looking at this similar to my first reaction.  Sorry if my thoughts were redundant!
