Mcintosh mc 352 or 602 overkill? I think the 352 brings more power to the table than the 100's need but I love mine. The 352 is a great amp. I see them here on AudioGon all the time for 3000 plus/minus. That is a terrific buy since new @4500. I also have a 7205 that I am only usi...
Sound loss/ windows? I wouldn't worry as stated in previous answers above. I recommend the pleated shades in lieu of the drapes for acoustic absorbsion. I have them and they work great.
Where does one place AQ sorbogel feet? My experience with htese has been only favorable. I have 4 placed under my turntable and 4 under my CDp. I use them with the flat side up and use the teflon pucks that come with them between the rounded end and the surface beneath.I have never tri...
ikemi or cd23? I have to admit that my Ikemi is the best I ahve heard and I think even when Linn produces a SACD player I will probably keep it unless the new player sounds as good on redbook. The one thI like is the ability to dis-engage the digital output from...
Why do McIntosh SS amps cut out? I would say it's in the POWER GUARD circuitry and it should pay a visit to Binghamton NY and see it's mother.Chances are it's older design is just worn out. Also you maybe driving some hard to drive speakers i.e. varing resistance or possibly cros...

Naim recommendations I have looked at the Naim gear and do own a phono stage and hi cap combo which I love. their amps are impeccably clean and true to detail. I have a local dealer that is a very knowledgable and also very close freinds with the regional Naim rep. wh...
Marantz 8300 SACD/DVD AUDIO I looked at the Elite 47ai, Intregra 8.3 and bought the DV8300. I found out from a marantz rep that the video section is pioneer and after listening to all three (at differnt dealers) with my cables, grado headphone amp and headphones the marantz ...
McIntosh and Autoformers. . .? My experience is that I had and still use a MC7205 multi channel amp and I purchased a MC352 about a year ago. The 7205 always sounded good and I was satisfied with all but the power. So I stepped up to the 352 for the front end and WOW!!! What a ...
Turntable speed problems... Sounds to me like motor failure, I would guess that soon you will turn it on get nothing. The fact that you moved it or re-connected it is just coincendental. Start looking for a motor, I had Pioneer PL540 starting to do that and that was the perf...
Marketed to death I have to say the I have been completely satisfied with FedEx and have never had a problem. UPS on the other hand has proven to be an acronym for Unusually Poor Service.I am sad to hear you have had a problem with FedEx but I refuse to use UPS and...
Best speaker in the $4-6k range. I would say the best route for you to go is to try a new cable. What are you using now? Try to find a dealer that will let you do some in home demos. Also check out the usedcable.com lending library. I am not a big Krell fan I always felt they wer...
The new Mcintosh MC 402 Do you need the power. I have a 352 as well and can't imagine needing more. I do have a question as a fellow 352 owner. Do both of your meters read equally? Mine is always a little stronger on the left side. McIntosh says have it re-calibrated by ...
Weird question Build a 4 foot thick concrete barrie between you an the player. Cover it with 2" sheet lead, and I hope you were done having children and like dentures. Actually just kidding. As long as you don't violate the plastic cover that has the lable on it...
Tightening binding posts problem If they are loosening up on you try a littel teflon tape on the threads. This won't affect the transferance as long as the spade is up against the base of the connector. Teflon tape is available at any hardware store and won't damage your threads. |
