why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable inna,The only people that can afford the very expensive cables are yuppies. I don't think the companies care if they are audiophiles or not. As long as they can shell out the cash.
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable Kiwanis,I never said that. What I did say is that I have heard more expensive cables and moderately priced cables. I said I could hear there was a difference between the cables. I just could not say the more expensive cables were better. Just diff...
Tone of Muisc, SF - worst hifi experience. Yours? Adammedia,Totally different from LosAngeles where people are unfriendly and give you dirty looks. It must be really nice to live in a friendly city.
Shopping for speakers at $1500-$2000 is a chore. Sunnyjim,Contact Evolution audio and video in Agoura Hills. They are a Golden Ear dealer. Talk to John Guidi. He has been selling audio for 30 years. Tone of Muisc, SF - worst hifi experience. Yours? Seattle must be an anomaly. All the big cities stores I have been to try and qualify you first before they let you sit for hours and listen to whatever you want.
Does anyone else think this Oregonpapa,I agree that audiophiles are far from normal. As far as woman being normal I guess you haven't met many psychos.
Tone of Muisc, SF - worst hifi experience. Yours? Jl402,I would be more worried about the bad review he put on Yelp.
Tone of Muisc, SF - worst hifi experience. Yours? Talking about P.H.D's. I used to have an audio dealer by me that used to say "let me teach you about audio I have a P.H.D." That turned me off so bad I never stepped back into that store.
Does anyone else think this Onhwy61, Very insightful comments. Thank you.
Does anyone else think this lloydc, that is so true. I mowed lawns all summer just to buy my first stereo. You would never see a kid do that nowadays. How life has changed.
Is Dynaudio forgiving speakers? I have owned 3 pairs of Dynaudio speakers. The only way I have found Dynaudio forgiving is by using tube gear. If you are running solid state gear it is not forgiving. If you want forgiving speakers buy Harbeth or Vandersteens.

Has anyone heard the new Rega RP10? Buconero 117,There you go again comparing a 300.00 turntable to a 6000.00 TT. Are you a paid spokesman for the company?
The New Audio Research Reference 6 Bdp-24,I don't want to debate sound quality. That is such a personal thing. I will say from a business perspective ARC is much smarter than Atmosphere and EAR. They have their customers on the audio treadmill. That brings in steady business for th...
