Cornwall IV – tube (amp) choice
If PL is really in your final choices and you want to get the most for your money, consider the following. I've heard the combination  many times-very nice. https://www.audiogon.com/listings/lisagjc8-primaluna-dialogue-premium-hp-stereo-integra...
How does the VPI Aries II stand up to current mid priced tables?
"Is there a drop in platter upgrade for the Aries II?" ozzy62-if you do the Classic platter, It may be  a R/R.It comes with bearing assembly. Email to VPI to confirm. https://upscaleaudio.com/products/vpi-classic-platter-and-bearing
OK, so seriously, what is up with TMR's pricing here??
TMR listed pricing is irrelevant is you really want something they have. Any smart shopper negotiates the price they want to pay. That's my experience with them.
How does the VPI Aries II stand up to current mid priced tables?
ozzy62- If your table doesn't come with a Soundsmith Counterintuitive, it makes adjusting the counterweight easier for tracking/azimuth adjustment.  Not a must have, but eliminates a lot of setup grief. A fresh belt is another inexpensive thing ...
How does the VPI Aries II stand up to current mid priced tables?
ADS initial adjustment seems archaic(strobe) compared to a simple sensor/magnet underneath the platter communicating to the controller in real time. Disappointing VPI didn’t jump on it years ago. Strobe light necessary for initial ADS setup. Stro...

Enjoy it. If you get the itch, there's always the Sota/Phoenix speed control upgrade, 3d arm and mentioned Classic platter to add. I think you can just get the controller/tach since you have a current motor. Antiskate is a never ending argument....
Upgrade from clearaudio maestro mm to $2-3k mc cart?
duerte30- Dropped the Hagerman in for the price comparizon to the used Fosgate, which I'm still using.  Didn't realize the Project increased in cost over the years. Wouldn't know how the 2 compare. You may be right it's not being a justified exp...
Cheers and a big "thank you" to Lenbrook. Distributor of Dali and others.
Imagine that... Customer service with actual customer service. Go out and perform 2 acts of random kindness.
Upgrade from clearaudio maestro mm to $2-3k mc cart?
duerte30- I meant to include in my last post a new unit also. Hagerman Trumpet looks to be a popular $1k($1200 price point tube unit if you want new. Your overall setup is  about the same level as mine, so just passing some experience to save yo...
The past meets the future
LP playback is an escape from the audio/computer/internet connection. Having a NAS setup with a huge library and an Ipad is the next best thing since sliced bread. Reading album notes in Roon isn't the same as holding a period LP reading everyth...
Upgrade from clearaudio maestro mm to $2-3k mc cart?
Check out US Audiomart. Can't link it here. If you want a tube phono stage-Chinook $2k Fosgate $1250 I've had both units side by side in my setup. The Fosgate subjectively sounds more convincing/organic BUT not for you if you must have absolute ...
Upgrade from clearaudio maestro mm to $2-3k mc cart?
$2-3K MC cart with your table/phono stage is overkill. $1K MC +$2K phono stage will get you more performance. Spend as much as you can tolerate on the phono stage.
My endgame system I think
Ronboco, I think many can relate to the cash outlay vs performance vs reality thing. I'm sure your setup "as is" performs quite well. It's shocking/satisfying once you hear speakers at any level in a dedicated space. Now any future changes/ad...
My endgame system I think
ronboco- Speakers are visually attention grabbing. Great looking(not a fan of black finishes) and I’m sure equally or better performance. Is black or black only choice? Looking at Rockport’s webistie, I don’t want to know the MSRP on their Lyra ...
My endgame system I think
Interesting use of the small area. Looks  purpose built  and nothing else. Happy listening.
