"I’m looking for improved leading edge on plucked string instruments, especially basses, excellent timbre on everything. " txp1- I'm a long time(50 years) guitar player. I've seen the "leading edge" description used here and there, but never und...
VPI felt mat vs aftermarket
" I tried using VPIs stainless steel screw down clamp with rubber gasket, but I don't find it performing any better than HRX weight with warped records" dmk_hifi - the amount of dish provided by the clamp/washer is limited by the degree/area of w...
How does this forum feel about original house music and live DJing?
Definitely a NOT in demand genre within the audio enthusiast crowd. More of  20 something, event/club going, iPhone user demographic? A repetitive/ predictable mix of sound effects to my ears. There's a fan for everything.
Amplifier considerations, PrmaLuna EVO 400 versus ARC Reference 160 S. Is ARC worth it?
pennfootball71 should take up audio review as a profession. He'll go far.

"If the blunt expression of my feeling on the PL fit and finish offends, my apologies." walkertm- No harm, no foul. Same goes for my response as well. Long time PL user and longer time fan of iconic US gear. No doubt the ARC upgrade will be jus...
What speaker could safely be ordered without hearing it first?
"looking at the upstairs system, this question is more for my downstairs." Yes, now I see. Didn't display 1 look. I'd fine tune room 1st. Those little black thingies probably aren't doing anything.  Side walls/ceiling  could be addressed for d...

"just slapped together Chi-Fi look that the components have. Nor do I like the cheap ass balanced connectors they use. There is a big difference in quality between them and the ones on my Ref 6." "Chi-Fi look?"  Sigh... You are comparing a value...

Based on your profile pic, a whole lot of speakers are out if putting them against the wall is the only option. Thread title is hard to resist...

Ignore it and enjoy your setup. Resist audio neurosis.
Give Jeff Beck's 'TRUTH' another listen
"I had the 2005 remastered version, with 8 additional songs" 1111art-I too, have that CD. El Becko's decision not to focus on singing was a wise decision. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xhpgepbvIhY
Give Jeff Beck's 'TRUTH' another listen
Truth, Beck-Ola, Blow by Blow and Wired are must haves. "Ain’t Superstitious" is the acid test for a proper LP setup. 10,000 lbs bass tone from Ronnie and great percussion. Love hearing my minty early press on uber setups. I also like Rod with...
Recommended cartridge under $2k for a Yamaha PX2 tangential turntable
The Minmax should be fine if you're gonna spend up to the suggestion of the ART9 I would question spending that much for your setup-AT ART 9 series pricing is up since the time I used one. AT OC9 series under $800 would be my choice.
Distance from wall for KEF Reference 1s
Your ears are the best judge.  Cardas, among many others just give another perspective Speaker Placement | Cardas Audio Based the calculator, that distance is for a room around 8 feet wide. Not a guide for a living space, as it encourages brea...
Digitally recorded vinyl vs streaming
One of the topics that will never go away... Hear an LP that is recorded/transferred on a nice setup, the file should sound identical to the LP. Most of the Rock/Alt Rock from the 80/90's and beyond is digitally recorded. I would imagine the qua...

"in search of T.I.A. kind of thing I guess? TIA was supposed to be T.A.S. No one needs a TIA-trans ischemic attack! Carry on.
