Why I prefer gear that is made domestically Sounds like that should be part of your due diligence if availability of parts is important to you. It is very true that a local manufacturer is more likely to have parts more readily available, but w the global supply chain now in force, that's ...
How to best ship big & heavy speakers internationally? Bax Global (now Schenckar or something like that) might be a good way to go if you have or can use a business address. They will charge extra if you require a liftgate truck rather than have a loading dock available. My experience is that for in...
Outrageous used pricing on older McIntosh Not to argue w you, oregonpappa, but a slightly different perspective might do the math like this. At $400/pair, the MC amps cost about a month’s pay. I'm sure many of us have spent a month’s pay for 2 channels of amplification (used or new).
Protecting speakers in home theatre application? I mean, a less right-minded audiophile would protect against finger-squished tweeters like thishttps://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTc1L2qtLyq6wkLFCZncE-BlUmzA1Pp_UCxReHcBRTIyX7P...
Protecting speakers in home theatre application? Wow, such compassion. A true humanitarian. I nominate Wolfie for human trafficker of the year!
Cry for Help! DEAD Mark Levinson 335 If you search the forums, I think you will find that it's hard to get independent repair shops to work on ML products because the part values they use are difficult/impossible to determine and they do not make their schematics available to others....
Protecting speakers in home theatre application? Wolfie- you crack me up, man! But given what we now know about hover boards, I hope you've got a hold harmless clause in their contracts 😜
Did I do any damage. . . .? +1mofi.
Audio advisor and Constellation amplifiers I'd much rather be stripped naked and humiliated by a dominatrix Would't we all, but what does that have to w Audio Advisor.
Help with picking the right phono pre for the rest of my system please! Based on head to head session:Doshi Alaap>Manley Steelhead=ZYX Artisan>>Aesthetix Rhea. Not based on any electrical compatibility issues, but based on somewhat theoretical sound advantages, if you are going MC I would urge an LO MC. All...
Amp for stereo subs George- thanks for thinking of me. I wasn't planning on spending that much anyways.Mesch- I'm using an NHT X-1 active crossover ahead of the Crown so no need to try the LP filter in the Crown.
Amp for stereo subs rl-the crown is working out just fine. I don't usually push my system too hard and the music I mostly listen to is not very bass heavy, but I've never heard the fan kick on, either. The only complaint I have is if I forget to turn if off at the ...
What's that noise? Hard to be certain w/o knowing what kind of speakers you have or what their efficiency is and how far away you are standing, but at full volume you hear a little white noise, that does not sound unusual to me.
Santa Came Early! Enjoy!
Trouble connecting Onkyo TX-NR809 via pre-outs to Nakamichi PA-5 I'm confused. Amplified speakers to me says the speakers have internal amplifiers. If so, you should not be sending the signal from pre-amp out to amp in to amplified speaker. It should be pre-out to speaker amp in. Can you clarify the chai... |
