CDP or Transport and DAC? Recomendations?
The Pro-jet RS2 that I returned may still be available as an "open box" unit on TMR.
How do you get Happy as an Audiophile?
"So far, I think this hobby is for the obsessive compulsive". +1
Science that explains why we hear differences in cables?
What is the point of these sorts of threads ? They're hardly likely to change anyone's mind. Yet, they appear over and over.
Best Integrated that you've heard under $5k
"Also, if I've missed the cutoff and there's just this $6k or $7k amp that is worth consideration, feel free to mention". If you're going to spend 6K, you might want to check out the Hegel H390.
RCA interconnect recommendation
@audphile1:   Haven't received them yet. I'll report back once I've had a chance to hear them.  The Hegel H390 is both more resolving and less colored than any integrated I've owned and as a result, differences in SQ between CDs are highlighted...
What Recordings Of Yours Did Not Age Well?
Tiny Tim's Greatest Hits is the one dependable disc in my collection-- no matter what life brings, it remains the solid bedrock supporting my psyche !  Seriously, I don't buy a lot of disposable pop music, so in my case, it's the fact that the li...
How do you get Happy as an Audiophile?
"How do you get happy?"  This is what I've observed...  Happiness is not a thing to be acquired so there can be no "getting" happy. Happiness is about being, not getting. . . and I cannot be in two places at once!  As long as I am chasing some...

An Artist's Pinnacle
@larsman: I'm speaking specifically of the original 3 LP "Europe '72' album. The vocal overdubs are common knowledge and very easily verified, now that the warts and all Europe shows are available (or were) in their entirety.  The consistently ...

Three more... Wishbone Ash: Argus. I've sampled a few other W. A. titles, but to my ears, nothing else comes close. The fusion of lyricism and power make this an underrated Rock (no-- it's not Prog) masterpiece, IMHO.  Fleetwood Mac: Then Play O...
An Artist's Pinnacle
Three examples spring to mind, immediately The Band's second album. For me, this is their best collection of songs and studio performances. Music From Big Pink sounds less artistically mature and Stage Fright is disappointingly inconsistent (attr...
The Audiophile Community Has a Problem: Part Deux The Saga Continues?
Recently, we needed our electrician. He, like many in the trades and in this conservative-leaning County, votes red while I'm at the other end of the political spectrum. As usual, we discussed various issues and as usual, we were able to keep thin...
