Vandersteen 5A biwire shotgun absolutely required? Do it right for heavens sake. Presumably, your amps are in between the 2 speakers so that you have short speaker cables and long interconnect. That is what Vandersteen recommends and that is what works best. Bi-wire must have 4 seperate wires to e...
Vandersteen 5a vs. B&W 802D vs. Maggie 3.6 vs.? I dumped my 802D's and got the 5A's. The Vandys are much more musical, have greater air, depth, clarity, etc.etc. There is no comparison. The 802's were stodgy in comparison. You should have all the ancillaries in place, or any speaker will not wo...
What's the limit for cart upgrade/VPI Scout? My experience is that the cartridge makes the most significant upgrade in sound. I had a Grado Sonata which was brown in color with fuzzy sound, had respectable width, but not much depth. When I changed to a Benz it was a revelation.
what is this noise caused from possibly No its not the same as VTA. Overhanng adjustment proceeds as follows: A good idea is to put some tape on the turntable platter so that it will not move when tinkering with this. With your arm you should have received a gizmo that looks like a grap...
what is this noise caused from possibly I don't think its anti-skate.. I'm using NO anti-skate at all and it sounds good. I really think its tracking too light,or overhang is wrong. If you're checking with a digital scale, dump it and use a cheap Sure.
To damp or not to damp JMW-9 Sig ? Please be more specific about the adjusting screw for damping. I find no mention of it in the instruction manual, and don't see one one my arm, although mine in a 10.5i which very well may be different
Cartridge & phono stage for VPI Scoutmaster setup? You might try the Benz ACE higher output ones. I heard one that was very nice indeed. I know that VpI arms like most cartridges and bring out the best in them. Dont be afraid of its "tippy' nature. When you get used to it, it wont be an issue at all.
Magnetization & Demagnetization any conclusions? I asked Mapleshade about this very question and am posting the very interesting answerDear Stanley,Walker's Talisman, like all demagnetizing devices (i.e. Bedini, Furutech, etc.), attempts to address the same problem as our Ionoclast, that is, the...
BURMESTER B99 OR VANDERTEEN 5A'S Burmester is heavier..other then that the Vandys have it all
Magnetization & Demagnetization any conclusions? I agree with Rushton, however, I still don't think its magnetism, but static electricity that we're eliminating.
Has anyone added a second belt to their VPI Scout Soon VPI will have a rim drive to eliminate the belts
Shipping a VPI TT, Arm & Cartridge. Help Needed I have the original boxes, but all those little pieces of foam and cardboard is a major intellectual exersize to place in the proper spots. I'd still have someone else pack it.
Magnetization & Demagnetization any conclusions? I dont think you can magnetize the record, but there is certainly a static electricity issue that should be dealt with. I had a Zerostat from about 30 years ago that fineally failed a couple of weeks ago. I order the Mapleshade version because it ...
Shipping a VPI TT, Arm & Cartridge. Help Needed The only other thing I can think of is to bring it to your friendly VPI dealer and have him send it... I have a Superscoutmaster, and even have saved the boxes that it came in. I personally would want to get it done professionally. I'm moving from...
